Reading 1. Подання текстів для читання.

1) Pre-Reading Activity. Етап підготовки до читання. Бесіда з учнями.

T: Do you know any youth organizations? Are youth organizations necessary for youngpeople? Why? Why not? What are their aims? Would you like to join any youth orga-nization? What do you hope to get from participating in this organization?

На кожне запитання відповідають по двоє-троє учнів.

2) Reading. Етап читання.

а) Впр. 1а (с. 33).

Один з учнів уголос читає текст вправи та перекладає його рідною мовою. Учитель стежить за правильністю вимови слів.

б) Впр. 1b (с. 33).

Двоє-троє учнів відповідають на запитання вправи. Решта доповнюють, якщо не-обхідно.

в) Впр. 2 (с. 34).

Учні самостійно виконують завдання вправи протягом 2—3 хвилин. Потім один з них зачитує нові слова та перекладає їх рідною мовою. Решта допомагають у разі необхідності. Учитель контролює правильність виконання завдання.

г) Впр. 3 (с. 34).

Один з учнів уголос читає текст вправи. Учитель стежить за правильністю вимови слів.

3) Post-Reading Activity. Етап перевірки розуміння змісту текстів. Бесіда з учнями.

T: What new facts have you learned from the texts? Who was the founder of the Scoutmovement? When was this organization founded? Which character traits are necessary for young Scouts? Why do you think so?

Учні ланцюжком відповідають на запитання вчителя.

Listening 2. Аудіювання.

Comprehension Учні отримують картки для самостійної роботи (НО₂), двічі слухають текст та ви-конують завдання на картках. По закінченні роботи вони ланцюжком читають до-повнені речення карток. Учитель контролює правильність виконання завдання.

Plast — National Scout Organization of Ukraine

Plast is Ukrainian scouting organization. The goal of Plast is to promote an all-round, patriotic education and self-education of Ukrainian youth on Christian principles. Being non-political and non-confession organization, Plast educates youth as conscious, responsible and valuable members of local, national and world communities, the leaders of society.

Plast was established in 1911, shortly after the Scout movement was founded by Robert Baden-Powell in 1907, and already in 1912 in Lviv, Ukraine, its members swore the First Plast Oath. The word «Plast» comes from Ukrainian word «plastun» which was the name of a Ukrainian Cossack Scout.

To reach its educational goals, Plast uses its own unique education method. Its basic principles include free-will membership, education and learning through game and work, a gradual system of studies and trials, self-governing in a circle, encouragement of initiative and self-management, perception of nature and living in nature, support of the special interests and talents of children and youth.

Unlike most scouting organizations in the world where membership is limited by the age of 25 years, membership in Plast is lifelong.

Plast in Ukraine unites about 10.000 members of different ages and by that is the biggest scouting organization in Ukraine. Today about 130 local councils are present in all 24 Ukraine’s administrative units and in the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea.

Speaking 3. Розвиток умінь мовлення. Впр. 4а (с. 34).

Клас поділяється на групи по троє-четверо учнів, які обговорюють завдання вправи протягом 4—5 хвилин. По закінченні роботи представники від кожної групи пові-домляють результати обговорення. Учитель контролює правильність граматичної будови речень.
