Anti-Eating Mouth Cage
US Patent Issued іn 1982
The holidays — it’s the time to celebrate (there’s a holiday coming up soon somewhere in the world every week). And you know what the holidays mean... Eat! Feast! Food! The holidays just wouldn’t be the same without a little overindulgence in the chow arena, but overeating leads to health problems and our inventor says that it’s a foregone conclusion that chefs, housewives that cook and restaurant employees who are constantly subjected to food will overeat their way into obesity. His solution? The Anti-Eating Mouth Cage!
The Mouth Cage is designed to allow you to breathe and speak but not eat due to the food barrier that’s mounted on your face. Just in case you are tempted by that perfect pie that’s calling out to you, the Mouth Cage is actually locked onto your head, so you can’t cheat the system. We don’t know about you, but we’re thinking it’s just a little too creepy to have Mum and our favourite restaurant staff smiling from behind their own little personal mouth jails. Guess it’s time for some fava beans and a nice Chianti.
Ski Brake
US Patent Issued in 1985
What is lesson number one when learning to ski? Going downhill is easy, it’s called gravity... stopping is the hard part! Flying down the slopes faster than you can fully control is the thrill that causes the spill when you find that you can’t stop. But as you can see from the illustration above, our Michelin Man has found a solution — he’s made Icarus proud and sprouted wings, that is braking wings.
To use: lightweight, waterproof fabric is stretched between your ski poles and attached to your chest via Velcro. The instructions are simple: arms out wide, go slow — hands together, zoom. The inventor explains: «It is a new pleasure to feel the wind press against the wing on the chest and arms producing a floating sensation and allowing the skier to address the slope as if it had fresh powder». We say: «You go, Moth Boy!»
Doggie Luggage
US Patent Issued іn 1998
What? You thought you’d see a picture of Fifi dashing through the airport with her little carry-on bag, didn’t you? No, my friend, Doggie Luggage is where the dog is the luggage! You know how distracting busy public places can be: all the things to see, all the things to sniff, all the places to leave your mark. And hey, you’re in a hurry, so now you can just pick up your pooch and Fifi can make like living luggage with four little legs dangling to and fro. You say your hand is getting tired? No problem, simply use the convenient shoulder strap to sling your furry friend over your shoulder. Of course, you may be the one that needs to start wearing the flea collar now.
Uphill Skiing
US Patent Issued in 1980
Did you hear about the newest winter Olympic event, uphill skiing? Interested in snow skiing but you don’t have any hills or mountains nearby, not to mention the energy required to swoosh all day long? Now you can actually ski uphill or on hill-less snow with the gas-powered Uphill Ski Fan.
Patented in 1980, this invention straps onto your back and is steered by hand controls. Peaceful solitude usually associated with skiing may be lacking here (think your lawn mower is noisy?) and don’t even ask about the brakes.
