Nowadays, more and more people are trying to find a hobby that would help them to feel liberated, free up internal energy and, finally, to relax and unwind from the daily hustle and bustle. One of the most popular hobbies has become visiting museums while traveling abroad or around our own countries.

I can not imagine going to Paris without visiting the Louver museum or going to Cairo without visiting the Egyptian museum. When you go to a new place you have to visit the famous museums in this place as a part of your visit. Yet the question is why people visit museums. I claim that there are three reasons for visiting a museum. It is an educational, a cultural, and an entertaining experience.
First of all, visiting museum is educational. A lot of people visit museums to gain knowledge about specific theme. When you visit a museum, the things you see will be on your head for a long time, it is not like reading a book or watching a movie. I remember visiting the Egyptian museum when I was a kid. It was an amazingly educational visit. I saw these wonderful statues, which I can remember till now. It was great to be able to see things for real after reading about them in books.
Also, it is a cultural experience. People can know a lot about the country they visit by visiting the museums. You can about the history of the country, the music they prefer, or the great figures of the nation. When you visit a museum you can gather information about the people of this country, that you can not get easily from books.
Moreover, visiting a museum is very entertaining. Watching statues that are three thousand years old or enjoying beautiful paintings in a museum, is a great experience. While visiting a museum, you live in a different world, a world that is full of wonders. You feel so excited about being between these valuable things. This feeling you will not feel it anywhere else.

To sum up, visiting museums has several benefits, it is educational, cultural and fun as well. So when you go to any new place make sure to visit the museums there, otherwise you will miss a lot.

The Khortitsa guests have a chance to attend the only in Ukraine Museum of Cossack History. Besides the main exposition dedicated to the history of Cossacks, you can attend thematic exhibitions, dioramas showing the events from the Stone age up to nowadays...

Museum located on the Khortitsa island gives an excellent outlook on the foundation and development of Zaporozhye Cossackship. Impressive dioramas will tell you about the main events which took place in this region- you will hear the sad legend of prince Svyatoslav’s death as well as interesting facts about the foundation and destroy of a military fortress.

In front of the museum there is the path leading to a wonderful view from the Christian hill overlooking the dam and stone rapids which make that part of the river impossible for navigation.
