Ukraine is full of magnificent tourist attractions. There are many options of sightseeing at Ukraine like palaces, churches, museums archaeological sites and some old buildings. Apart from these attractions the country also offers some spectacular sights like mountains, landscapes, beautiful gardens, beaches and rivers. Many people like to spend their holidays in Ukraine exploring the cities of the country. Sightseeing at Ukraine is very exciting as it offers you many options to explore the beauty of the country.

Ukraine is a country of ancient history and of the richest culture so there are many places of historic and cultural value, our pride and wealth.

From this point of view Kiev — the oldest city in Ukraine and the capital of our country is the most interesting. There are many places which are really worth sightseeing. Vladimir Hill is one of them. It offers a view of the Dnieper and surroundings. St. Andrew's Church is one the most beautiful historical and architectural monuments. It was created in 1747-1753 by B. Rasstrelly and J. Michurin. St. Sophia Cathedral was founded by Prince Yaroslav the wise in 1037, the Cathedral is considered to be the top of the craftsmanship Ukrainian people. The Kiev Pechersky Lavra is another outstanding Ukrainian historical monument, which was built in 1051 after Christianity had been adopted.

Kiev isn't the only city of cultural and historical importance. There are a lot of places of interest in many other cities of Ukraine.

Another city that draws attention is Lvov. Lvov is a city of unusual beauty in the west Ukraine. It is the only city in Ukraine that still has some original Renaissance archi­tecture. The finest examples of the style are the Dormition Church and the Chapel of Three saints.

To the south of Lvov there is the town of Chernovtsi. It is one of the oldest Ukrainian towns. It was founded in the 12^tfl century on the left bank of the river Prut. In Chernivtsi you are sure to drop in at Y. Fedkovich literature museum and a museum of regional studies. The O. Kobylanska Theatre of Music and Drama is one of the best theatres of Ukraine.

If you are lucky to visit Chernigov, there you will find 5 out of 25 architectural landmarks of 11-12^th centuries preserved on the territory of Ukraine. One of them is the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral.

Another place in Ukraine which is worth visiting is Nizhyn. It's an old and beautiful town. It has over 20 architectural monuments, the most famous being the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, the church of St, John Chrysostom and the lyceum building.

The Carpathian Mountains attract tourists with picturesque landscapes and fresh air both in winter and in summer.

The Crimea is mostly famous for its summer resorts, rest houses, camps and beautiful exotic nature.

There are many other cities in Ukraine which will make your sightseeing exciting and fun filled. All the cities of Ukraine have got some spectacular castles and monuments which will help you to know more about the country. Other sightseeing at Ukraine includes Kachanovka park, Kamyana Mohyla, Sofyivka Park, Pirogovo Museum, etc. Ukraine has hotels where you can stay and relax. The structures and buildings of Ukrainian cities have got different architectural styles which make this enormous country look beautiful. Our country consists of 24 administrative regions and The Crimean autonomous republic. Some of them:

The Kherson Region is situated in the south of Ukraine. It is an agricultural center of Ukraine. The region is divided into zones: cereals are cultivated in the northern and eastern areas, vegetable-growing, gardening, vine growing are cultivated in the southern and central areas.

Ivano-Frankivsk Region is located in the South-east of Ukraine. The region is rich in natural resources. Forests occupy a very large territory with a lot of valuable industrial species. The industrial potential of the region is concentrated in Ivano -Frankivsk, Kolomyia.

Luhansk Region is a large industrial centre. It is called the cradle of southern metallurgy.

Rivne Region was founded on the 4^th of December 1939. It possesses a certain potential of the natural resources. The surface waters of the Rivne Region include 170 rivers, many lakes and ponds. Industry and agriculture take leading place in the economy of the region.

Zhitomir Region is a beautiful picturesque piece of north-western Ukraine. The region is the first in Ukraine for the wood. It has a great capacities in the industrial and ceramics production.

Sumy Region is located in the north-eastern part of Ukraine. It is rich in minerals such as oil and gas. 132 rivers flow though the territory of Sumy Region. Thanks to geographic conditions, there is an opportunity for harmonic development of the region.

Cherkasy Region is situated in the central part of our country. A great deal is being done on the territory of Cherkashyna to restore the historical past. There are a lot of historical and cultural reserves, but the world-famous Sofievka Dendrological Park in Uman is a real pearl.

Chernigiv Region is a “potato land” and the land of “ big chemistry”. There are 1200 rivers in the region, the main waterway is the Desna river. There are a lot of outstanding places.

Chernivtsy Region is one of the youngest in Ukraine. It is located on the left bank of the river Prut.

Vinnitsa is a Region of industry and high mechanized agriculture, with scientific base. In two recent years Vinnitsa became one of the 5 best regions of Ukraine.

Volyn Region takes a favourable geographical position and is situated on the crossroads of the European trade route.

Dnipropetrovsk Region is located on the river Dnipro. The city is a center of space rocket production in Ukraine. Different parts of the city are connected with each other by three bridges.

Ternopil Region has got a glorious history. Numerous visitors to the region are attracted by the architecture.

Mykolayiv Region is situated near The Black Sea. That is why it is the centre of ship-building of Ukrane. It is also a large transport junction.

Kirovograd Region is situated in the central part of Ukraine. Kirovograd Region is a unique centre of the Ukrainian culture. This is the birthplace of the Ukrainian professional national theatre.
