III. Отсутствие артикля

Использование нулевого артикля в английской технической литературе наблюдается в следующих случаях:

1. Нулевая форма неопределенного артикля, в случае, когда исчисляемое существительное стоит во множественном числе. В таких случаях при переводе можно вводить слова: любые, некоторые, какие-нибудь.

2. Иногда отсутствие артикля несет определенную информацию: автор не имеет в виду отдельный предмет, а выражает общие абстрактные идеи. При переводе можно использовать слово вообще.

Salary is an important factor in productivity.

Заработная плата является важным фактором, который влияет на продуктивность.

В научной и технической литературе отсутствие артикля характерно для существительных трех типов: для научных и технических терминов, для существительных, обозначающих вещество или массу, и для существительных, выражающих абстрактные понятия.
