11. 4. 1 The number of arrival and departure tracks in industrial station and port station shall be determined according to pairs of railway trains,the times for arrival and departure of transfer trains or wagon receiving and dispatching times in enterprise station or port station and the process of uniform technical operations adopted by factories, mines and

ports.
The effective length of arrival and departure tracks shall be consistent with the effective
length of railway arrival and departure tracks so connected. The effective length of arrival
and departure tracks used only for arrival and departure of short-distance transshipment
trains may be determined by actual demands.
11. 4. 2 The quantity and effective length of shunting tracks used in industrial and
harbour stations for accumulation and departure of wagons to network wagon flow shall be
determined by the group numbers specified in train formation plan, the wagon flow quantity
per day and night for each group number and the nature of wagon flow.
11. 4. 3 The quantity and effective length of shunting tracks used in industrial and
harbour stations for accumulation and departure of trains to enterprise or port may be
determined by following requirements:
1 If it is to adopt cargo handover and takeover pattern, it should be determined according to the numbers of all work stations,subarea yards and loading/unloading points in enterprise or port, number of trains dispatched to all work stations, subarea yards and loading/unloading points per day and night and the process of uniform technical operations adopted by factories,mines and ports.
2 If it is to adopt wagon handover and takeover pattern, when industrial station and enterprise station or harbour station and port station are set separately and there is no handover and takeover yard set in industrial station or harbour station, the quantity of shunting tracks should be determined according to the wagon flow quantity accumulated or dispatched to enterprise or port and the process of uniform technical operations adopted by factories,mines and ports. When handover and takeover yard is set in industrial station or harbor station which is located on one side of railway shunting yard, the wagons to be dispatched to enterprise or port after breaking-up should be rolled directly to handover and takeover yard,so it is unnecessary to set shunting track for accumulation and departure of trains to enterprise or port wagon flow.
3 In the industrial station and harbour station with standby wagons,stabling sidings shall be set for standby wagons according to the number of standby wagons.
4 Effective length of shunting track shall be of the length of transfer trains to
enterprise or port plus additional length.
11. 4. 4 The quantity and effective length of handover and takeover track may be determined according to following requirements:
When industrial station and enterprise station or harbour station and port station are set separately and handover and takeover yard is set in industrial station or harbour station, the quantity of handover and takeover track shall be determined according to the quantity of wagons to be handed over per day and night, times of wagons to/from handover and takeover yard and the time to handle the operations of wagon handover and takeover.
The effective length of handover and takeover track shall be consistent with the effective length of arrival and departure tracks in industrial station or harbour station. If there is larger difference in length existing between the transfer train to enterprise or port and the train to railway,the effective length of partial handover and takeover track can be shortened accordingly, but it may not be shorter than the effective length of arrival and departure track in enterprise station or port station.
