8. 2. 1 The track plane in hump rolling portion shall comply with following stipulations:

1 It shall be arranged in form of track group, the number of shunting tracks in each group should be 6 — 8; it shall adopt 1 ! 6 symmetrical turnout and 1 : 7 symmetrical double turnout. If it is difficult for reconstruction, it may reserve 1 : 6. 5 symmetrical turnouts. When it especially difficult to connect the tracks on the outer side of the shunting yard, it

may adopt 1 : 9 simple turnouts individually.

For low-capacity hump with less shunting tracks, if it is difficult to adopt 1 : 6 symmetrical turnouts in arrangement, it may adopt 1 : 9 simple turnout and multiple-laddered track layout. In case of especial difficulties, it may reserve the existing ladder track layout.

2 Curve radius should be no less than 200 m, under difficult conditions, it may be 180 m.

3 The curve may be connected directly to turnout stock rail or frog heel (excluding the portion before stock rail of the first branching turnout); in this case, the widening of track gauge and superelevation of outer rail may be handled within the curve range.

8. 2. 2 The minimum distance from hump top to the rail gap of stock rail of the first branching turnout shall be 30~40 m. When there is turnout set between hump top and turnout for the first branch route, this distance may be determined according to concrete conditions.

8.2.3 When there is arrival yard set before hump, it shall set 2 pushing tracks, if double
humping method is applied, it may set 3 ~ 4 pushing tracks; When there is no arrival yard set
before hump,it may set 1—2 pushing tracks according to breaking-up operation volume.

The section of pushing track for frequent release-coupler shall be designed into straight track and it should not use symmetrical turnout near to hump top. The space between two pushing tracks shall be no less than 6. 5 m and there shall be no housing built therein,when it is necessary to erect the related equipment,it shall be sure that it is not to affect the operating safety of dispatcher. Within the turnout range on the main release-coupler side of frequent release-coupler section, it shall build across-turnout pavement on hump top.

8.2.4 When there are 2 pushing tracks, and, on the hump top with 4 and above track
groups,it shall set 2 rolling tracks.

8. 2. 5 It should set 2 no-humping wagon storages for high and medium-capacity humps, the effective length of which may be 150 m. If there are less no-humping wagons,it may be incorporated with detour track. The no-humping wagon storage on small capacity hump may be set according to demands.

The no-humping wagon storages shall adopt 1 : 9 simple turnout connected pushing track,and the frog on the plat of hump top.

The no-humping wagon storages shall bypass such buildings as signal tower,etc.,and the wagons stay on no-humping storage shall not obstruct the watching of dispatcher. 8. 2. 6 When there is arrival yard set before hump,it shall bypass hump top and the loop track for wagon retarder; when there is no arrival yard set before hump, it may set loop track as it is necessary.

8. 2. 7 The design of humping track plane shall rationally arrange the overlap protection block section necessary for wagon retarder and centralized control turnout, which shall consider, based on • 40 •


the requirements of operation,the locations for buildings such as hump signal tower,hump-top cou­pler room or dispatcher room and wagon retarder power room,etc..
