3. 2.1 The planes for approach lines shall accord with the requirements on the main track of adjacent section. Under difficult conditions, the minimum curve radius of the untwining line for passenger train to run shall be no less than 400 m,while the minimum curve radius of other untwining lines shall be no less than 300 m, and, in marshalling station, the minimum curve radius of receiving loop track and departure ring track shall be no less than • io •

250 m.

3.2.2 The yard within a marshalling station shall be set on straight lines. Under

especially difficult conditions,it may be set on same-direction curve in receiving yard, departure

yard and receiving-departure yard, the curve radius of which shall be no less than 800 m.

3. 2. 3 Lead track shall be set on straight line. Under difficult conditions,it may be set on

curved line with curve radius no less than 1 000 m, while under especially difficult

conditions, its curve radius shall be no less than 600 m;curve radius of lead track shall be

no less than 300 m in the freight yard and other plant and depot only handling train

picking- up, dropping, placing-in and taking-out operations under especially difficult

conditions.

Lead track shall not be set on reverse curved line. For reconstructed stations with fewer shunting operations, if conditions are especially difficult, it may be set on reverse curved line, and it is also possible to reserve the existing curve radius.

3. 2. 4 Goods loading and unloading track shall be set on straight line. Under difficult conditions,it may be set on curved line with curve radius no less than 600 m; while under especially difficult conditions, its curve radius shall be no less than 500 m. 3. 2. 5 The track located beside a high passenger platform in a passenger station shall be set on straight line. In reconstructed passenger station or other stations, if conditions are difficult,it may be set on curved line with curve radius no less than 1 000 m,and under especially difficult conditions, the curve radius should be no less than 600 m. 3. 2. 6 The curve radius for connecting line, locomotive running track and triangle track in a station shall be no less than 200 m, but the curve radius for connecting line in a marshalling station shall be no less than 250 m.

The effective length for the stub-end siding of triangle track shall be the length of two locomotives plus 10 m safety distance;under difficult conditions, the effective length in the returning section for single locomotive traction where turning times round the clock are less than 36 times may be the length of one locomotive plus 10 m safety distance.

Straight line section in front of the turnaround equipment shall be no less than 12. 5m. 3. 2. 7 It may not set transition curve for station track curve. The curved section and connecting curve on arrival and departure track should be set with cant, the cant in curved section may adopt 20 mm, the connecting curve cant may adopt 15 mm. Other station tracks may not have cant.

3. 2. 8 On station tracks for trains to pass through,a straight line section no less than 20 m shall be set between two curves. On station tracks not for trains to run, a straight line section no less than 15 m shall be set between two curves; under difficult conditions, the length of such straight line section may be no less than 10 m.

3.2.9 On main track and station track, the straight line section length between turnout and curve shall accord with following requirements:

• 11 •

1 In a station located on main track, between the outmost turnouts at both ends of each throat area and other single turnouts extending directly to the end of cant slope,in the track with section design running speed to be more than 120 km/h,it shall be no less than 40 m,and under difficult conditions, it shall be no less than 25 m; while in the track with section design running speed to be 120 km/h or less,it shall be no less than 20 m.

2 The straight line section lengths from the front and rear of a turnout on a station track to the curve shall be determined by such factors as curve radius, turnout structure, widened track gauge on curve and cant, etc. The minimum straight line section lengths from the front and rear of a turnout to circular curve shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 3. 2. 9.
