8. 3. 1 The hump height of high,medium capacity humps and the low-capacity hump with speed control device set in rolling portion shall guarantee that hard rolling wagon is able to roll to the calculated point on hard running track when a train set is disintegrated with a pushing speed of 5 km/h under unfavorable wagon rolling conditions.

The location of calculated point shall be determined by the humping speed control system used.

For the low-capacity hump without speed regulation device set in rolling portion, the hump height shall guarantee that the speed for easy rolling wagon to roll to the fouling post on easy running track in shunting yard shall be no more than 18 km/h when a train set is disintegrated with a humping speed of 5 km/h under favorable wagon rolling conditions; when there is wagon retarder set on the shunting track,the speed for easy running wagon to roll to the wagon retarder shall be no more than the speed allowed by the velocity hump crest of retarder.

8. 3. 2 The profile section of track in hump rolling portion shall be designed into a downgrade facing shunting yard and the composition of grade sections shall meet following requirements:

1 Accelerating grade: the gradient shall be no more than 55%o when diesel locomotive
is used; under difficult conditions,it shall be no less than 35%o.

The point of gradient change between accelerating grade and intermediate grade should be set before stock rail of the first branching turnout.

2 Intermediate grade: it may be designed as multiple grade section or one grade
section. The track gradient in the section with wagon retarder shall be no less than 8%o.

3 Turnout grade: the average gradient should be no more than 2. 5%o;the gradient for side track group should be no more than 3. 5%o.

4 The design of profile section of tracks in hump rolling portion shall be check calculated in accordance with following requirements based on the speed regulation system used:

1) There shall be adequate space for continuous rolling of hard-medium-hard individual wag­
on by humping speed of 5 km/h or for hard running wagon group-individual easy
running wagon to pass through wagon retarder,each branching turnout and fouling
post when speed regulation device.

2) The speed for a wagon to enter into wagon retarder shall not exceed specified value.
3)The speed for a wagon to pass through branching turnout shall be no more than the

speed used to calculate the length of overlap protection block section. 8. 3. 3 The profile section of tracks in hump pushing portion shall ensure that a train set can be started by one shunting locomotive under any hard condition.

A coupler compression grade shall be set before hump top,the gradient of which is no less than 10%o and length is no less than 50 m.

8. 3. 4 Vertical curve radius for each grade section connected to humping track shall be no less than 350 m on hump top adjacent to coupler compression grade; it shall be 350 m on hump top adjacent to accelerating grade;and it shall be no less than 250 m and 1 500 m in rolling portion and detour track portion respectively. 8. 3. 5 The net length of hump top platform should be 7. 5~10 m.

8.3.6 The longitudinal section of no-humping wagon storage shall be of concave shape, the section from the turnout at start point to the fouling post should be designed into downgrade,the middle part to stop wagons should be designed into flat grade, and the section within 10 m range from the bumper post shall be designed into 10%o upgrade.
