IN THE CITY. LONDON

Мета: повторити вивчені лексичні одиниці до теми, повторити при­йменники місця, учити нові лексичні одиниці до теми; повторити Past Simple Tense (правильні й неправильні дієслова); розвивати усне мовлення (діалогічне й монологічне), удосконалювати навички читання, письма, розширювати знання учнів про життя англійців, про визначні місця Лондона, виховувати приязне ставлення до жителів Великобританії.

Обладнання: підручник Chatterbox-З, магнітофон, аудіокасета до підручника, дошка, крейда, диск, телевізор, DVD - програвач, картки з новими лексичними одиницями, картки із завданням, картки із транскрипцією но­вих слів, малюнки до теми.

1. Привітання та ознайомлення учнів із темою, метою уроку

Good morning! I’m glad to see you. How are you today? I’m fine, thank you. What date is it today? Today we’ll continue discussing our topic “In the city. London.” We’ll speak about the capital of Great Britain, London. We’ll revise grammar rules. I hope our lesson will fee very interesting for you.

London is the capital °f Britain. It is one of the most interesting places in the worlds About 8 million people live in London. There is a big river in London - the Thames. There are a lot of bridges over the river. Tower Bridge is the most famous. There is a famous clock in London called Big Ben.

London is a beautiful city. There are many modern buildings, shops, cinemas and museums in London. You can see Westminster Abbey and St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. From Tower Bridge you can see the Tower of London. It is a museum now.

Pupil 3

LONDON PARKS

London parks are the most beautiful places of the city. You can sit in St. James’s Park near the lake and listen to music. Green Park is a quiet, place. You can see many people in Hyde Park on Sunday. There is a theatre, a rose garden and a restaurant in Hyde Park.
