Course Description: It is a multi-skills course and aims at developing the students’ proficiency in language and communication skills. The course is designed to provide intensive listening, speaking, reading and writing in English at Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). It is a “corpus-informed” course, which is a large database of everyday conversations and texts that show how people actually use English. The course ensures that learners will encounter the most useful and widely used words, phrases, and grammar in a range of everyday situations.

*According to the SibFU Assessment Regulations your semester exam mark will correspond to the score you get:

100% - 84% “5”

83% - 67% “4”

66% - 50% “3”

**All the mentioned parts of your Portfolio are a must for submission. Once papers are turned in and evaluated, the points you receive are final (no more revisions can be submitted).

The documents you include into the portfolio may be requested by your course tutor for scrutinizing at the end of the term about which you will be advised in advance.

Timely submission of all the portfolio components is obligatory. Late submission (though within a week time) will be scored lower. Later submission, without an agreed extension requested from a course tutor, will not be scored. In case of any excused absence, work is due immediately upon return whether or not we meet in class that day. In ALL circumstances it is the student’s responsibility to enquire about missed work.
