WORK EXPERIENCE

July 2014 – August 2014 Interpretations from and to the Arabic language

There was a group of 6 men from Egypt and I had to interpret from Russian to Arabic and if there were questions from one of the group I interpreted them to the lecturer. It is also necessary to say that this work was quite specific because there was a lot of terminology connected with industrial electronics. My total work here was five weeks.

February 2014 – present Translations and interpretations in court

Here my mission is to do interpretations from Arabic to Russian in sessions and after that I translate writs. As for interpretations in sessions it is consecutive translation.

June 2010 – present Private translator and tutor of the Arabic language

I work on special orders on translations from the Arabian language. Basically it is literary translation. Therefore, it is important not only to translate, but also, whenever possible, to edit the text. While translating it is necessary to do also footnotes since there are the certain historical and cultural realities which are absent on Russian cultural and historical ground, that forces to resort to additional explanations for a Russian-speaking reader.

Also I teach the Arabian language individually.

November 2008 –October 2010. Translator of the Arabic language (literary translation)

The Islamic Cultural Center, Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Here I carried out literary translation of texts (books and articles written in the Arabian language). There was also the necessity to edit the text and to do necessary explanations that make it at the clearest form to a Russian-speaking reader.

May 2009, Saint Petersburg, Russia. The translation that was carried out during an administrative case during which a foreign citizen of an Arabian country tried to receive a political asylum in Russia.
