Exercise 1.. Произнесите следующие слова, соблюдая правила чтения.

book, shook, diplomat, show, slow, fast, last, few, cold, night, fight,

light, fall, ball, call, meeting, cheating, fabulous, nervous

Exercise 2. Произнесите следующие местоимения в притяжательном

падеже. Выучите их.


I — my [maɪ] мой

You — your [jɔ:] твой

He — his [hɪz] его


We — our [a�ǝ] наш

You — your [jɔ:] ваш

They — their [ðɛǝ] их


She — her [hǝ:] её

It — its [its] его, её (неодуш.)

Exercise 3. Произнесите следующие словосочетания. Переведите их

на русский язык.

our mat, my bet, our time log, their brand, our firm, his watches, her goals,

Exercise 4. Произнесите предложения и переведите их с английского

языка на русский.

1. It is our goal. 2. They are our engineers. 3. This is your desk. 4. These

are their customers. 5. That is her umbrella. 6. Those are your samples.

7. What is this? It is our map. 8. What is that? That is their time log. 9. What

are they? They are our pilots. 10. What are they? They are my drivers.

Exercise 5. Ответьте на вопросы, используя слова в скобках.

Образец: What is your name? (Peter) — My name is Peter.

1. What is my name? (Greta) 2. What is your name? (Rob) 3. What is

his name? (Sid) 4. What is her name? (Kate) 5. What is its name? (Rex)

Exercise 6. Произнесите вслух новые прилагательные и переведите

их с английского языка на русский.

Exercise 7. Произнесите следующие словосочетания, а затем пред-

ложения. Переведите их с английского языка на русский.

bag, a high chair, a short umbrella, a boring task, an interesting report,

a high salary, a calm customer, a nervous accountant, a smart engineer,

1. This is a good desk. 2. That is a bad watch. 3. These are new firms.

4. Those are weak partners. 5. What is it? It is an interesting report. 6. Is it

an easy task? — No, it isn’t. It is difficult. 7. Is it a high salary? No, it isn’t.

It is a low salary. 8. Is it a small inn? — Yes, it is. 9. Is it a difficult bet? —

Yes, it is. 10. Is she a calm customer? — Yes, she is. 11. Is he a nervous

accountant? — No, he isn’t. He is a calm accountant. 12. Are they slow

workers? — No, they aren’t. They are fast workers. 13. Are they smart

engineers? — Yes, they are. 14. Are you a fast driver? — Yes, I am.

Exercise 8. Сделайте предложения отрицательными, обращая вни-

мание на новую модель.

Модель: This worker is good. — This worker isn’t good. He is bad.

1. This umbrella is short. 2. That task is easy. 3. This report is

interesting. 4. This story is long. 5. My watch is fast. 6. Our firm is new.

7. His watch is slow. 8. Her salary is high. 9. This inn is big. 10. Their
