Module: Basic English

The theme of the project work: “English speaking countries: culture shock”

Problem: How to survive in English speaking countries in terms of culture shock.

Idea: examining the ways of surviving in English speaking countries in terms of culture shock.

Aim: identify the problems that people face up with in English speaking countries and how to cope with culture shock.

Objectives:

- Find out and study the appropriate materials according to the examining problem.

- Explore the information about existing English speaking countries.

- Emphasize (on the basis of forecasting possible consequences in realization of presented problem solutions) potential problems which we will face up with.

Forming competences and sub-competences: ICC (lingua-cultural, socio-cultural), professional oriented (informative-researching, analytical-forecasting, instrumental, creative-modeling, reflexive-developing).

Solving problem:

Ø Make an appropriate literature review on the chosen topic;

Ø Draw up a step by step plan of the project and predict possible outcome;

Ø Make a project;

Ø Feedback from the audience that need to be considered. (Peer-assessment). Analysis of the project for further improvement

Result: Make a project work.

Module: Basic English

The theme of the project work: “Hotel and restaurant on-line booking”

Problem: the disadvantages of on-line booking.

Idea: examining the existing ways out.

Aim: identify the problems people face up with during the hotel and restaurant on-line booking in Kazakhstan and target language country.

Objectives:

- Find out and study the appropriate materials according to the examining problem.

- Explore the information about the existing problems and finding the ways out in target language country.

- Compare the presented service level in Kazakhstan and target language country.

- Emphasize (on the basis of forecasting possible consequences in realization of presented problem solutions) potential problems which we will face up with.
