May, 15, 1930
Dnipropetrovsk Chemical-Technological Institute was founded on the basis of the Dnipropetrovsk mining institute. The initiators of its foundation were academician L.V. Pisarzhevskiy, Professors O.I. Brodskiy and P.Т. Rubin.
Storozhuk became the first director of the Institute. The Institute comprised 2 faculties: technological and main chemical industry faculties.
The higher educational establishment under the industrialization conditions prepared specialists for chemical industry of South Ukraine. The first graduation of specialists was in 1931.
1934
For the first time in the science of our country the heavy hydrogen isotope was obtained on the Department of Physical Chemistry under the direction of Professor O. I. Brodskiy, this discovery fastened reputation of the powerful scientific establishment of the country.
1950
The main corps of institute was restored.
1953
Two new faculties were founded: Technology of Organic Substances and Technology of Inorganic Substances.
1954
Faculty of Silicate Technology was founded and Extra-Mural Department for working youth, which in 1958 was transformed into Extra-Mural Faculty.

1964
New faculty of High Molecular Compounds Technology was founded. It was detached from the Faculty of Technology of Organic Substances.
1972–1984
The Institute was headed by Doctor of Engineering Science, Prof. V.D. Parhomenko, founder of Plasmochemistry School. He broadened the activity and research work of DCTI. He founded the branch scientific laboratories and museum of history of the Institute. The Mechanical Faculty corps and new dormitories (№5, 6) were built.
Since 2007 The new name of the University was established by Ministry of Education and Science – State Higher Educational institution „Ukrainian State University of Chemical Engineering” (SHEI USUCE).
Nowadays the University has 8 educational corps with audiences and laboratories, equipped with modern equipment, 5 dormitories for 2600 persons, a sports complex – one of the best in Ukraine, a sports and health camp «Oak Grove», a sanatorium-preventorium.
