In the contest theater photography

General terms

1.1. The Organizing Committee

• Kharkiv Regional State Administration Department of Culture and Tourism
• Kharkiv Regional Organizing and Methodic Center of Culture and Arts
• Kharkiv House of actors named by L. Serdyuk.

1.2. The goals and objectives of the contest:

- Promotion of the theater pictures genre

- Activation of creative collaboration between photographers and theaters;

- Supporting young beginners in photography and facilitating their professional perfection in the genre of theater photography;

- Demonstrating possibilities of cooperation between different types of art;

- Presentation of theater photography around the world.

The stages of the contest

May 1 - October 20, 2013 - Accepting application forms and contest photography by the organizing committee;

October 21-30, 2013, Work of the jury, summing up, determining winners;

November 7-23, 2013 - The final best works exhibition in the department of modern art gallery "Mistetstvo Slobozhanschina" of Kharkiv Regional Organizing and Methodic Center of Culture and Arts, lectures, master-classes and meeting well-known experts in photography and theater fields.

Participation in the contest

3.1. Professional and non-professional photographers, photographers groups, and other associations and other organizations from around the world can take part in the photo contest.

3.2. The contest photos from any theatrical stage performances: theater, circus and ballet performances, as well as public performances of street theater are accepted.

3.3. We do not accept photo collages, staged photography and "backstage" photos.

3.4. Contest photography should not contain any copyrights and signatures.

3.5. For participation in the photo contest the following list of materials should be sent to the organizing committee:

- Application for participation in the photo contest in Ukrainian, Russian or English (Application № 1);

- Photo works (up to 5 pcs.) in JPG or TIFF format with a resolution on the width min 1000 pixels and not more than 3000 pixels.

Materials should be sent to the email address [e-mail].

3.6. By submitting works to the contest, the participant agrees to its terms and confirms his authorship.

The organizers are not responsible for copyright infringement by participants.

3.7. In case of publication or displaying works at the exhibition, organizers are not responsible for claims from persons appearing in these photos.

3.8. Contest organizers reserve the right of reproduction and demonstration of images in the Contest, without payment of royalties and prior notice but with obligatory indication of author's name.

3.9. Participation is free of charge.

Estimation of the contest works.

4.1. The jury considers the submitted works in the nominations and determines the winners.

4.2. Nominations:

- «Ballet»

- «Drama performance»

- «Performance of puppet theater»

- «Eclectic performance»

4.3. The jury is formed of experts in photography, theater and exhibition activities.

4.4. Estimation criteria of the contest works:

• Relevance to the theme of the contest;

• Artistic level of work;

• Technology and quality of performance;

• Originality.

4.5. Photos submitted to the contest may not be allowed to participate in the contest for the following reasons: photos are not relevant to the theme of the contest; low artistic quality of photos; low technical quality of photos.

Awarding of participants contest

5.1. Winners of the contest will be awarded by diplomas of 1, 2, 3 degrees in the relevant categories and with prizes.

5.2. The best works will be exhibited in the department of modern art gallery "Mistetstvo Slobozhanschina" of Kharkiv Regional Organizing and Methodic Center of Culture and Arts from 7 to 23 November 2013.

5.3. Contest Partners can establish special prizes for the winners.

5.4. Contest results will be published on site www.cultura.kh.ua.
