Tasks

Make a Power Point Presentation on one of the following topics.

1. Morphemic Structure of the Word.
2. Grammatical Classes of Words. Parts of Speech.
3. Noun as a Part of Speech. The Category of Gender and the Category of Number.

5. Verb as a Part of Speech.
6. Non-Finite Verbs (Verbids).

9. Finite Verb. The Category of Aspect.
10. Finite Verb. The Category of Voice.
11. Finite Verb. The Category of Mood.
12. Adjective as a Part of Speech.
13. Adjective. The Category of Comparison.
14. Adverb.
15. Syntagmatic Connections of Words. The Phrase.
16. Sentence: General Characteristics.
17. Sentence. Actual Division of the Sentence.
18. Sentence. Communicative Types of Sentences.
19. Simple Sentence: Constituent Structure.
20. Composite Sentence as a Polypredicative Construction.
21. Complex Sentence.
22. Compound Sentence.

 

Terms and Conditions:

· Power Point Presentations should be clearly structured, should reflect different theoretical positions, and should contain schemes, lists, main points and ideas, examples rather than plain text.

· Presentations in 97, 2000, 2007 or 2010 format are allowed.

· Both printed and electronic versions of the presentations should be submitted (you can print up to 6 slides on the same sheet of paper).

· Presentations should match a 10(12)-minute report. The text which corresponds to the slides should be provided in a Word-document (the structure of the document: Slide_Number, Text).

· Presentations on the topics that have been covered at the seminars will be evaluated max. 10 points.

· Presentations on the topics that have not been covered at the seminars will be evaluated max. 15 points.

· Tests should contain theoretical questions with three variants of answers among which only one is correct.

· Tests should contain 20 questions.

· Two variants of the same test should be submitted: the first variant should contain questions and non-highlighted answers; the second variant of the test should contain questions, two non-highlighted answers and one highlighted answer (in bold or bold italics). The second variant should also include a table with a number of the question and the letter which corresponds to the correct answer.

· Both printed and electronic versions of the tests should be submitted.

· Tests on the topics that have been covered on the seminars will be evaluated max. 10 points.

· Tests on the topics that have not been covered on the seminars will be evaluated max. 15 points.
