10. Paraphrase the sentences using the verb must.

11. Rewrite the following without using but.

13. Translate the following into English using refuse or deny according to the sense.

1. Он не мог отказать себе в удовольствии подшутить над другом. 2. Секретарь отказалась дать какие-либо объяснения по этому вопросу и предложила обратиться к начальнику отдела. 3. Как ты мог отказать в их просьбе? Ведь они так -редко обращаются к тебе. 4. Он был вынужден отказаться от приглашения, так как на следующий день уезжал в отпуск. 5. Неужели они отказались помочь вам? 6. Ты ей предложил денег? — Да, но она отказалась.
