The survey was conducted from Orient Explorer, a specialised scientific research vessel.
The company carried out seismic data survey independently, the amount of 2D works totalled 2,000 kilometres.
Despite extremely severe ice conditions this year, all works were carried out to full extent and ahead of terms of the licensed liabilities schedule.
The survey was conducted from Orient Explorer, a specialised scientific research vessel.
The project implemented by Rosneft's subsidiary RN-Shelf-Far East.
Geologic data acquisition in the East-Siberian Sea was carried out in line with all the regulations of the Russian Federation environmental legislation. Together with already conventional programs of ecologic monitoring and manufacturing supervision, an ice expert was present at the vessel during works, to control ice conditions and prevent risks of ice hazards.
Rosneft and ExxonMobil have started 2D seismic exploration at the Anisinsko-Novosibirsky and Ust-Oleneksky licence blocks in the Laptev Sea
A modern research vessel Academik Fersman will be engaged in the survey (carried out by Dalmorneftegeophysica)
The 2D seismic exploration programme plans to acquire up to 6,000-line kilometres of data, and will last until the end of October.
Alongside geophysical research, a licence wide bathymetric survey of the seabed surface with multi-beam echosounder will be carried out to define depth and study seabed topography.
A modern research vessel Academik Fersman will be engaged in the survey (carried out by Dalmorneftegeophysica).
The research will result in the provision of regional data on geological structure of resources within the work cluster, which will try to detect promising oil-and-gas objectives for further possible studies.
Geological prospecting work in the Laptev Sea is being carried out ahead of licence commitments subject to all requirements of environmental protection legislation of the Russian Federation.
Geological prospecting work at the resource licence block in the Laptev Sea is arranged by Rosneft subsidiary RN-Shelf-Far East.
Rosneft obtained licences for investigation, exploration and production of hydrocarbons within the Anisinsko-Novosibirsky and Ust-Oleneksky licence blocks in 2013.
The area of the blocks is over 205,000 square kilometres.
Commercial inflows of oil, gas and condensate have been acquired in four exploration wells on Rosneft’s licensed blocks, which were handed over to Verkhnechonskneftegaz for operational activities on geologic survey, exploration and production of hydrocarbon crude
Depth of wells totals about 2,000 metres, within each of them several oil and gas bearing horizons occurred
According to the results of drilling and probes, maximum rates totalled up to 60 cbm of oil per day and up to 150 cubic metres of gas per day.
The well on Preobrazhensky licence block proved availability of oil and gas in the southern block of the Lisovsky oil field. For the first time on Rosneft’s blocks in the Irkutsk Region, an aged reef carbonate build-up with extended depth of productive horizon was tapped, confirming presence of a new type of oil and gas exploration prospects in the Eastern Siberia.
Based at the results, achieved during test of exploratory wells, RN-KrasnoyarskNIPIneft is preparing a justification on incremental value of oil, gas and gas condensate for Russia’s State Commission for Reserves of Commercial Minerals. The expected incremental value for C1 category only is over 10 million tons of oil and 14 billion cubic metres of gas. The data on reserves, justified by the Commission, will be used for further planning of geologic works and preparation of fields for commercial development.
Depth of wells totals about 2,000 metres, within each of them several oil and gas bearing horizons occurred. Sites for drilling wells were determined by results of 2D and 3D seismic data acquisition.
All wells were designed in compliance with a fundamentally new geological approach, elaborated by Rosneft subsidiaries, Verkhnechonskneftegaz and RN-Exploration, with support of the KrasnoyarskNIPIneft research institute.
Highly technological approach to elaboration of reservoir geology models, usage of modern techniques of seismic data works performance, data processing and interpretation allowed to make drilling of new wells highly successful.
For instance, when probing the well on Mogdinsky licensed block, flows of oil, gas and condensate from Wendian Cambrian complex aged carbonate basins of Nizhne-Ust-Kutsky, Verkhne-Ust-Kutsky, Preobrazhensky and Yerbogachensky horizons. On the Danilovsky licensed block two wells proved commercial presence of oil and gas on South and North Danilovskoye fields, planned to be commissioned in nearest years.
Preparation of new reserves for development of production in the Eastern Siberia is a strategic goal of Rosneft.
China's first fully-hydraulic mobile drilling rig integrated with automated wellhead tools, fast moving capability, fully hydraulic drive and compact structure, the KY720, has been developed by Kerui Group
According to KY720 R&D project teams, the drilling rig adopts an innovative design of power supply, overall structure and tool integration, on the basis of meeting seven international and industry design standards. Source: Kerui Group
Hydraulic drilling rigs are mainly used in the development of shallow oil and gas resources. Those resources are mostly located in mountainous areas, making it difficult for cluster well drilling, equipment relocation, automation and drilling cost control, etc. KY720 is completely suitable for the exploitation of shallow resources, which has focused on solving problems such as equipment relocation in the process of drilling.
According to KY720 research and development project teams, the drilling rig adopts an innovative design of power supply, overall structure and tool integration, on the basis of meeting seven international and industry design standards.
It has adopted fully hydraulic drive, world-leading diesel engine and transfer case gears, and load sensing system for power output and control. The KY720 realises high speed of the power head while keeping the motor load low due to its optimised hydraulic system.
KY720 has incorporated the state-of-the-art telescoping mast technology, dual-hydraulic cylinder, and wire rope feeding system, substantially optimizing the volume of the equipment for relocation and ensuring its high mobility. Meanwhile, the embedded power catwalk is of great significance in enhancing the level of safety and automation.
For the LNG market, 2015 will be marked by increasing volatility as new 'waves' of supply start to add volume together with new markets opening up, according to BG Group’s annual Global LNG Market Outlook
'This new supply will be absorbed by continued growth in Asian demand, together with the creation of up to six new markets in 2015, further diversifying the LNG trade and opening up new sales opportunities' - BG Group vice president
Andrew Walker, BG Group vice president of Global LNG, commented: "After four years of flat supply we are entering a period of supply growth. 2014 marked the start-up of a new wave of supply from Australia. This will be joined by the first volumes from the US Gulf of Mexico around the end of 2015. This new supply will be absorbed by continued growth in Asian demand, together with the creation of up to six new markets in 2015, further diversifying the LNG trade and opening up new sales opportunities."
"While we see good growth in LNG imports into Asia in 2015, key influences that will affect demand include the rate of return of Japanese nuclear power-plants, economic growth rates for China and South Korea, as well as when the new markets begin importing. Over the longer-term BG Group continues to expect LNG trade worldwide to exceed 400 million tonnes per year by 2025, representing an annual growth rate of around 5 per cent – almost twice the rate of expected growth in global gas consumption."
Although the industry expects five new liquefaction trains and one floating LNG (FLNG) production facility to start-up in 2015, Dr Walker noted: "These will be towards the end of the year limiting incremental supply in 2015 to around 7 million tonnes. How the market responds to the growing volumes in 2016 and 2017 will be a key factor to watch. We expect the LNG market to become more volatile over the next few years as it responds to 'lumpy' supply and market-side additions plus exogenous supply and demand factors."
Dr Walker explained further: "We see fewer final investment decisions being taken in 2015 than previously expected, which will mean less LNG is available to the market at the end of the decade. This uncertainty brings into sharper focus the attractiveness of flexible supply portfolios which can respond to changing market dynamics."
