1. Which channels are watched most / least in Britain? Why?

The two most popular channels in Britain are “BBC One” and “ITV”.

2. What did you find interesting or surprisin^g about British TV?

British TV have a lot of international programmes like BBC. The programmes are made in the way to be interesting to people from all over the world.

3. What do Russian TV channels offer to their TV viewers?

Russian TV offers diverse channels, which broadcast news, movies, documentaries, concerts and cartoons.

The “1”, “Russia 1” and “NTW” channels show serious programmers, like news, politics, educational programmers, chat and interviews and popular movies.

The “Culture” channel broadcasts classical concerts, theater pieces and old movies.

The “TNT” and “STS” are interraining channels, which show cartoons, series, reality shows and comedy shows

4. What channels does your famil^y watch? Why?

My family like watching movies, news and cartoons. We watch the “1”, ”NTW” and “TNT”.

No, I don’t watch TV a lot. I rather go for a walk with my wife of meet my friends at the evenings after work.

6. Why do people watch soaps?

The Soaps have a long story line. People can meet the characters they like again and again, and watch how they cope with the difficulties in their work and private live. Soaps are like movies, but last 20 times so long and are more close to the real life.

7. Do you watch soaps? Why? a bit boring but they are not trash *(x..acuu) show life as it is have very interesting story lines are a bit of escapism*(pascuercamenbribiei) are good in the way they show are not harmful really don't show life realistically are too violent*(ucicadrcerirmia)

I don’t watch soaps, I find the stories are often not so realistic. For example when someone finds a twilling brother, which happens quite often in soaps. Furthermore, often soaps are all about love, and romantic movies are not my favorites as well.

8. What is your favourite programme?

I enjoy watching comedy shows as “KVN”, “Comedy Club” or “Vecherny Urgant”

9. Why do you never watch some programmes and never miss others?

I watch only programmes that interest me. For example, I never watch cooking or gardening shows.
