The Pub
In Britain people like to meet in taverns, called public houses or ‘pubs’. There are about 73000 pubs in Britain. Pubs are places where people relax, chat, make friends, have light meals, play darts and drink. The most popular drink served in pubs is beer. It is served in pints, and people drink it at the bar or at the tables. In fact the usual opening hours for pubs are 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. and 5.30 p.m.-11 p.m.
