Exercise 1. Make sentences interrogative. Use is/are/do/does.

Example: What acts or omissions … criminal law regulate? – What acts or omissions does criminal law regulate?

Exercise 2. Open the brackets and put the verb into the correct form. Use Present Simple or Present Continuous.

Exercise 4. Correct the mistakes where necessary.

Exercise 5. Translate the following sentences from Russian into English.

1. Суд имеет полномочия выяснять обстоятельства дела, разрешать споры и выносить решения суда. 2. Правительство управляет обществом и контролирует поведение граждан. 3. Почему ты паркуешь свою машину здесь? Это незаконно. Ты хочешь заплатить штраф? 4. Солиситор сейчас занят. Он дает консультацию своим клиентам по вопросам налогообложения. 5. У мировых судей нет юридического образования. Они заседают с чиновником, имеющим юридические полномочия. 6. Сегодня присяжные обсуждают приговор на открытом судебном заседании. 7.
