Paracetamol.
Paracetamol is a non- narcotic analgetic.
What is your medicine for?
It is used to relieve mild or moderate pain, such as headache, migraine, neuralgia, toothache, sore throat, period pains, muscle pain and backache. It can also relieve the symptoms of rheumatic aches and pains, influenza, feverishness and feverish colds.
Before you take your medicine:
If your answer to any of the following questions is yes, then you should ask your doctor before taken them.
1. Are you pregnant or breastfeeding?
2. Do you suffer from heart, liver or kidney problems?
3. Are you or have you been allergic to Paracetamol or any of its ingredients?
4. Do you suffer from or have you ever suffered from stomach problems such as ulcers?
5. Are you taken any other medicine - particularly Aspirin, Ibuprofen or other anti- inflammatory painkillers or anticoagulants?
Taking your medicine:
Follow the instructions on the label about how to take your medicine.
Dose: adults and children over 12 years: 1 to 2 tablets to be taken orally with water every 4 hours to a maximum of 8 tablets in 24 hours.
Children 6 to 12 years: 1/2 to 1 tablet every 4 hours. The dose should not be given more frequently then every four hours and not more than four times in any 24 hour period. Do not give to children under 6 years of age except on the advice of a doctor.
Warning: do not exceed the stated dose.
