I. Reading
Reading is one of the best habits people have. When you borrow a book to read it is like inviting a guest to your home. You treat it carefully trying not to make any damage to it. It's better to have your own books because you can mark your favourite passages in them and then, in later years, you will recall these moments of reading.

Collecting a private library has a lot of advantages. The books you own are like friends that are always with you. They are never asleep or away on a journey. It's a great pleasure to open a book and have a talk with the greatest minds of the world: Socrates, Shakespeare, Dumas, Dickens or Galsworthy. They wrote to you. And you open your heart to them and take the most of what your heart can take.

II. Writing
Dear William and Cornelia,
Please accept our heartiest good wishes on this the fifth anniversary of your marriage. May the years to come bring every blessing to you both.

III. Speaking
I was born on the 22nd of July. My birthday has always been a very remarkable day for me. It is summer and the weather is fine. Usually, we hold my birthday party on Sunday next to the 22nd of July. Usually we celebrate it at home. My next birthday will be something special. I think that we'll have a picnic that day. We will organize it in the yard of our country house. The guests will come for a couple of days, so we'll have a lot of fun that day.

In the morning my parents will come to my room to wake me singing "Happy Birthday, dear Ann". They will give me the presents. On the eve of the party we will invite my friends and relatives. I will get up early in the morning that day. My father and I will go shopping to the district marketplace and supermarkets. We will buy everything we need for the party. My mother will stay at home to bake a pie and cakes. Then we will lay the table together, put on evening suits and dresses and will wait for the guests to come.

At about four o'clock my relatives and friends will come to congratulate me and I will be glad to see them. They will bring me a bunch of roses for my mother and books, sweets and records for me. I will thank my friends for coming and for the wonderful presents they bring. My aunts will give me some clothes as a birthday present (she always does this, and I like it!). My granny will give me something I'll ask her for. She doesn't like to buy presents that are not needed. I would like to have an iPhone or a laptop. These are the things which I'll need for my studies at the university.

We will have an abundant dinner that day. The food will be delicious. My dad will make a speech, my mum will bring the birthday cake and I will blow out candles. All will listen to music and dance for the rest of the evening. My guests will also play some exciting party games. In the evening we will have a firework display.

At the end of the party I will feel exhausted but I will also be very delighted that I have had the chance to meet lots of interesting people.
