My Plans For Future

I. School! Lessons, games, clubs, homework. A bell rings - you go to the classroom. A bell rings - you have lunch. A bell rings - you go home. But one day you go to school for the last time. What do you do after that? You realize that the time to choose one job out of hundreds has come. It’s going to be a hard choice and nobody can make it for you. The end of school is the beginning of our independent life, the beginning of a serious examination of what we have learned and how we have formed our character. In order to pass this examination we must choose the road in life, which will help us best to live and work for our own good and for the benefit of our country. Many broad, bright roads open before the pupils when they leave school. They have all the opportunity to develop and use the knowledge and education they received at school. And it’s very important not to make a mistake.

It was rather difficult for me to decide which one to choose as there are many attractive occupations nowadays. Thinking about my future profession I take into account my interests, talents and abilities. I want to develop them and show the best results in work. I also think that my job must bring joy and satisfaction and be well paid. So, I’ve made up my mind to become an economist. I think that the reason for it is very clear. I study at school specializing in exact sciences and economics. In advanced classes students have a good command of math, physics, and get basic knowledge of economics. I think that it will help me in future to enter the Kyiv University of Trade and Economics and become a good specialist (expert) in this branch of science. After graduating from the University I want to work as an economist or a financier at a bank or for some trade company. I’ll try to do my best to put into practice all the knowledge and skills I’ll obtain during my studying at school and the University.

II. I believe that nowadays the profession of an economist is of great social importance. Economists are in great demand in our country as it’s the time of market reforms and changes. Ukrainian national economy is in crisis and only highly qualified experts – economists and financiers, thanks to their knowledge, practical skills and experience can help out our country of this economic crisis. They will provide the scientific basis for further improvement of our national economy and plan the progress of our country. Though I understand that it is a difficult job to work with figures and money, to hold and examine business accounts, to settle business matters, to predict the consequences of this or that economic decision, to deal with international companies.

It requires constant thought, attention, responsibility, patience and creativity. It also demands a lot of reading, as an economist should be aware of all the current events at the international market. I know all that and work hard to do well in the most important subjects. I try to solve a lot of math problems on my own, master computer working skills, improve my English language facilities. In my opinion it’s impossible now to do without foreign languages because of expanding economic and cultural ties of Ukraine with other countries of the world. I also listen to radio broadcasts, watch TV programs, read articles devoted to the urgent economic and financial problems. I want to broaden my outlook. I know there is a big competition for entering Economics faculties/departments nowadays and I shan’t have much chance of getting in if I don’t work hard. This year examinations are the first step into my successful future.
