Some companies spend enormous sums of money on their best clients in order to “keep them sweet”. But in order for entertainment to make good business sense, you should plan it carefully.

Firstly, it is vital to choose appropriate event. There is no point in taking clients to rugby match if you are hoping to have some one-to-one conversation. Instead, it is possible to use a sporting event or the opera as a “hook”. And then arrange a meal afterwards for a more intimate discussion.

Secondly, it is absolutely necessary to set clear objectives. Many businessmen make common mistakes sending staff to the corporate events without telling them why they are there. Employees’ see it as a chance to stand around having free drinks for the company. Everyone feels uncomfortable in this situation.

And lastly, some people simply have a poor timing. They can’t decide exactly when to bring up the matter of business at a social event and miss opportunities.

In conclusion, the recipe for success in entertaining business partners is the ability to mix social conversation with purposeful conversation. And to move smoothly and effortlessly between the two.

Choosing a business hotel you should be very careful. First of all location plays a great role. A hotel shouldn’t be located far from the airport and main transport links. So it shouldn’t take longer than half an hour to get there from the airport. It’s desirable that the hotel should be located in a commercial or financial centre of city. For business travelers interested in culture and history there should be attractions and sights like churches, cathedrals, parks.

Secondly, it’s essential for the hotel to offer appropriate amenities. Luxurious rooms should provide: voicemail, wireless Internet connection, in room movies, a CD and video library and flat-screen TV. Moreover restaurants should offer a wide variety of dishes of different cuisines which suit all tastes.

Lastly and most importantly a round-the-clock business service with meeting rooms equipped with multimedia devices is a must because businessmen need to make sure that they can contact their business partners and have business talks any time they need.

In conclusion, a business hotel should provide various facilities for business people to work efficiently.
