Visiting Belarus

You have a chance to tell about your favourite cultural and historical sites of Belarus on the pages of the educational portal Life Beyond Tourism thus making our country more visible in the world.

The project you are going to prepare is connected with the not-for-profit organisation Life Beyond Tourism based in Florence, Italy and aiming at promoting the world’s culture and cultural diversity. You are to prepare a posting for their portal. It may be a description of an interesting place in Belarus, a description of a tourist route or an article about some tourist site in Belarus for their on-line magazine.

1. First of all, visit the Life Beyond Tourism Internet site (http://new.lifebeyondtourism.org/) to find out what idea underlines the creation of this organization. Read their manifest.

2. Register at the site to be able to put there your posting.

3. Make yourself acquainted with other people’s postings in the category ‘Points of interest.’

4. Decide what interesting place in Belarus you are going to describe. You should choose a place that hasn’t been described yet. Prepare the text and some pictures of the place.

Your text must describe the place you have chosen (it may be a town, a tourist site, a museum – any place of cultural and/or historical value), its history and its present use, it also may contain some tips for potential visitors.

5. You may also choose to describe a tourist itinerary in a city/town or around a number of places in Belarus. In this case you may combine efforts with another student. In an itinerary you will have to describe several places.

6. Present your place or itinerary to your group.
