Request talk! yuuhi & kiriyan reminisce, part the first

For the past two weeks I have had about a million things I had to do, so naturally I decided to translate a small portion of the Oozora Yuuhi/Kiriya Hiromu crosstalk in the most recent graph. XD Although I say “small portion,” it’s actually quite long and was taking me a lot longer than I had anticipated when I started, and I really have had a lot of things to do, so. XD but this interview was gold, and although I do not have time now to translate the whole thing, I wanted to share at least this part!:D

…which I split into two parts so that (a) I wasn’t sitting on this for an incredibly long time, and (b) for ease of reading. (: I will probably translate the whole thing… eventually. lol.

Oozora Yuuhi: The theme of today’s pictures is “All right then, when were we like this?”. This is an official Takarazuka quiz (laughs).

Kiriya Hiromu: (laughs). There are times people definitely won’t know.

Oozora: (laughs) All right then, Kiriya-san will explain.

Kiriya: Huh? Ah, okay. To begin, the appearance of the first set is “checkers” right? During the practices for Takarazuka Special and such, Touko-san (Aran Kei), Yuuhi-san (Oozora), and I were often lined up together. At those times we often wore checkered shirts, you know.

Oozora: Yeah, yeah. I think the first time the checkers were born was when I was still with the Moon Troupe. Speaking of that time we were practicing for TCA, wasn’t everyone acting like they were putting on airs?*

Kiriya: That’s right (laughs).

Oozora: But the three of us alone were wearing checkered shirts (laughs). And from then on the checkers team was born, and every year we took a memorial photograph.

Kiriya: If we ever got together for an event, we would do the checkers, huh. If someone weren’t wearing checkers, we’d get out some veneer tape and deliberately make a checkered pattern out of whatever the person had worn to practice and such (laughs).

Oozora: We did that to Touko-san’s shirt, didn’t we (laughs).

Kiriya: And then our pose for the picture (t/n: in the magazine) was from when Yuuhi-san, Tani (Yamato Yuuga), and I played a fantasy idol group called “Mercuries” in a production called Luna. Just before Tani graduated from the Revue, at the Takarazuka Special, the three of us came together in the wings of the stage and were like ‘Ah~ Everyone’s here~!’ And then we we were like ‘Although it’s been a few years, shall we do it?’ and danced, huh.

Oozora: (laughs). Everyone, our faces right now are totally different from that time.

Kiriya: Well, I guess you could say our faces have gotten sharper.

Oozora: If I were to say it well, we’ve gotten cooler (laughs).

Kiriya: (laughs). Also, one more pose is from West Side Story.

Oozora: No one will know this one either (laughs).

Kiriya: Because even the people who performed it with us didn’t notice (laughs). Yuuhi-san and I recently discovered a video of our poses during the illusion scene when the Jets and Sharks were walking around intermingled and then suddenly stop and look up at the sky…

Oozora: And then she deliberately took a photo of it on her cell phone, and the next day in the hallway she was like, ‘hey check this out for a sec’ (laughs).

Kiriya: We could do it when loads of people are around, but even so, because it it’s for a split second, there is no way anyone will understand (laughs).

Oozora: Kiriya-san is such a maniac** that she remembers even the tiniest details of that show. Somehow.

Kiriya: That sounds about right (laughs).

*I want to say Yuuhi’s saying that everyone was acting grand but then she, Touko, and Kiriyan were being unfashionable by themselves XD but to be honest I’m not 100% sure what she meant by that sentence. +__+
