On October 21-23, 2015, Ufa (Russia) will host the First Small Business Forum of the SCO and BRICS Regions. This forum will be the first effective integration platform for collaboration between business agencies, business, and regional authorities of the SCO and BRICS member states.
Applications to take part in the forum have been received from 18 countries and 40 regions of the Russian Federation. International participants represent agricultural, IT, nonferrous metallurgy, insurance, and consulting companies.
The importance of the First Small Business Forum of the SCO and BRICS Regions has been stressed by the SCO Business Council executive secretary Sergei Kanavsky: “In the context of national economic programs, which impact all business units, it is particularly important to establish efficient economic bonds not only between Russian regions, but also with the CIS and non-CIS states abroad. SCO Business Council is ready to assist and develop this collaboration within the organization’s economic activity.”
The forum sets up dynamic environment for live discussions. The program includes discussion of instruments for interregional innovative and investment initiatives as well as improvement of mechanisms for transfer of innovations and technologies with due account for best world practices, business meetings and negotiations between the SCO and BRICS entrepreneurs, conclusion of contracts, and signing of cooperation agreements.
The forum will host a discussion panel “Franchising as a means to facilitate cooperation between the companies of the SCO and BRICS member states regions” co-organized with the Russian Franchising Association. Its participants will discuss the advantages of franchising as an effective way to enter international markets. The discussion will be moderated by Yuri Mikhailichenko, Executive Director of the Russian Franchising Association.
“The topics of international cooperation and expansion of Russian concepts abroad are strategic development issues for Russian franchising. The analysis of the BRICS commodity and services markets shows their growing economic prominence on a global scale. The First Small Business Forum of the SCO and BRICS Regions may be a good start for many Russian brands to enter the global market in general and the largest markets in South-East Asia and South America in particular. Nowadays, franchising is one of the most efficient instruments of non-oil and gas export in the world,” says Executive Director of the Russian Franchising Association Yuri Mikhailichenko.
The forum is organized and coordinated by the Republic of Bashkortostan government, the Bashkortostan Republic State Committee for Entrepreneurship and Tourism and the Bashkortostan Republic Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Supported by the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“Today, the SCO and BRICS small and medium-sized business stores enormous capacity for interregional cooperation and economic collaboration. This potential should be developed and systematized. The First Small Business Forum of the SCO and BRICS Regions will become a platform enabling to promptly and steadfastly find partners, develop business, and share experience,” says the Republic of Bashkortostan Head Rustem Khamitov.
This event takes place during the Russian presidency at Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2014-2015 and BRICS association in 2015. The Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin supported this initiative to hold the forum in the Bashkortostan Republic.
