Family problems

Sometimes I argue with my parents because they don’t let me do what I want. We disagree a lot, and it’s not very nice in my house when they refuse to give me permission. They think I’m just a child, but I’m growing up really fast. They don’t allow me to go out on a school night, for example. But I’m fifteen and I want to grow up! Why don’t they let me? When I was younger I couldn’t look after myself, but now I’m old enough.

They shout and sometimes I cry, but they still don’t let me do what I want. It’s not easy to get on with them when they don’t trust me. They say they worry about me all the time, but I don’t think that’s reasonable. It’s not fair. And then they have all these rules, and I have to do what the rules say or I get into more trouble. I must feed the dog and do the washing up, and I should always do my homework before I watch TV. But my relationship with my parents isn’t bad, I suppose. They let me go out at the weekends. At the weekend I can do whatever I want!
