Application form regulations

Those who wish to submit the film to the “Bastau” IFF shall fill in the application form and provide a copy of the film on DVD with English or Russian subtitles no later than October 10th, 2014.
Selection of the films shall be carried out by the festival selection committee that finishes its work on the 15^th of October, 2014.
Once the film is officially selected, the producers of the films shall forward the following documents to the «Bastau» IFF General Directorate:
• Subtitled cue sheet (dialogue lists) in English or Russian;
• Synopsis, promotional materials, press-releases (if available);
• Information for the Catalogue (information on a director, his/her photo and stills from the film).

LOGISTICS AND PRINT INSURANCE

«Bastau» IFF General Directorate shall cover all expenses with respect to transportation of the films chosen for the competition and other programs to Almaty and back.
The sender of the print must notify the IFF General Directorate of the shipping company name as well as to fax or e-mail a copy of the airway bill.
«Bastau» IFF General Directorate shall cover all expenses pertaining storage and insurance of the film prints selected to the Festival programs.

COMPETITION PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS

The screening of the film in the competition of the «Bastau» IFF requires the attendance of one or two representatives of the competition film at the festival (the director, producer, actor/actress).
Travel expenses as well as accommodation for the representatives are covered by the «Bastau» IFF General Directorate.

GUESTS TO THE FESTIVAL

«Bastau» IFF General Directorate deals with the matters regarding the guests’ invitation, terms and provisions of the Festival attendance and accreditation.
Conditions of the guests’ attendance shall be specified in their individual invitation cards.

Guest accreditation applications shall be submitted to the «Bastau» IFF General Directorate before 15^th of October, 2014.

JURY

The International Jury and Kazakhstan Students Jury are formed for the evaluation of competition films.
Travel expenses to Almaty and back as well as accommodation of jury members are covered by the «Bastau» IFF General Directorate.
Jury members must not include individuals who participated in the production or commercial exploitation of the films screened in competition

AWARDS

The International Jury of the principle competition award the “Bastau” IFF statuettes and the following rewards:

Grand-Prix for the Best Film - $1000

Grand-Prix named after Sh. Aimanov for the Best Film from the Students' Jury - $1000

Prize for the Best Male Performance - $500

Prize for the Best Female Performance - $500

Prize for the Best DOP work - $500

Prize for the Best Short Documentary Film - $500

Prize for the Best Short Animation Film - $500

Prize for the Best Short Feature Film - $500

CONCLUDING PROVISIONS

Festival attendees shall abide by all clauses of these regulations.
