Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics

Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics is one of the leading higher education establishments in Ukraine. It is in the Top 10 of the best universities for employers. It was founded in 1946 as an affiliation of Moscow Institute of Soviet Trade. It was the Institute of Trade and Economics till 1994, then it was transformed into the Kyiv State University of Trade and Economics and in 2000 it was granted the status of the National University.

Nowadays the university is one of the most well-known educational and scientific centers of the country. It is a leader in reforming the system of higher education in Ukraine. The University actively introduces advanced educational and information technologies. Training is carried out in modern classrooms and laboratories equipped with computers and other devices. Many Doctors of Science, Professors, teachers with scientific titles work here. The University constantly expands and improves its international cooperation within international projects and programs with higher education establishments, international centers and institutions of Russia, Belarus, Moldova, China, Poland, Slovakia, Greece, France, and other countries. It is a member of different international organizations. The University takes an active part in fundamental scientific research, experimental and design work in home and foreign economic activity, examination of goods and services, consumer protection, finance and banking, insurance business, tourist service market, restaurant business, exhibition activity, advertising and other industries.

The University offers to the students the following educational scheme: Bachelor – Master – Doctor of Science. It trains highly qualified specialists for trade, government offices, restaurants and other catering establishments, hotels, tourist complexes, financial institutions, law firms, Customs, national and international business. There are 5 departments at the University: the Accounting, Auditing and Economic Cybernetics Department, the Economics, Management and Law Department, the Finance and Banking Department,the Commodity Science and Trade Entrepreneurship Department, and the Restaurant, Hotel and Tourist Business Department. Many students from Kyiv and all over Ukraine study at day-time, extra-mural and short-time extra-mural departments. The pupils going to enter the University study at the Preparatory Department. The fields of science learnt at the University are International Economy, Economy of an Enterprise, Commodity Science and Trade Enterprise, Management, Marketing, Law, Hotel and Tourist Business, Economic Cybernetics, Tourism, Food Technology and Engineering, Accounting and Audit, Finance and Credit, Psychology, Advertising and PR.

The university, in addition to basic establishment, where there are 5 departments, consists of 4 educational institutions, 8 colleges and higher commercial schools located in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Chernivtsi, Khmelnytskyi, Uzhgorod, Kolomyia, Yalta. The University also includes French-Ukrainian Institute of Management, Institute of Higher Qualification, Center of Business Foreign Languages, Institute "Intelect", Department of Pre-Higher Education for Foreigners, Education and Production Association, Career Building Center, Center of Education and Training Firms, Center of Products Certification, Services and Quality Systems, Publishing House.

The University library provides students and teachers with the latest national and foreign literature in their specialization, periodicals, fiction, and access to the Internet and modern automated library information system.

Students are provided with dormitories located in the University territory, modern cafeterias, cafes, a sport complex, a recreational center at the Black Sea coast. The amateur creativity of students is diverse and productive. There is a scientific community of students and young teachers, a cultural centre, a number of professional youth clubs, and sports sections. The students are represented in the bodies of the university administration. Among the university students there are many participants and winners of national and international competitions and championships.

The Accounting, Auditing and Economics Cybernetics Department trains experts in Accounting, Auditing and Economics Cybernetics (Accounting and Audit inEntrepreneurship, State Financial Control, and Economic Cybernetics).

The Economics, Management and Law Department provides training of experts in Economics and Entrepreneurship (Economy of an Enterprise, Economy of Entrepreneurshipinthe Market of Goods and Services), Finance and Credit (Finance of an Enterprise, Financial Intermediation), Marketing (Marketing in the Market of Goods and Services, Advertising Business), Management (Management in the Market of Goods and Services, Trade Organizations Management, Customs Management, Management of Anti-Monopoly Activity,Foreign Economic Activity Management, Innovation Management, Staff Management), Foreign Economy, Law (Commercial Law, Financial Law, Legal Provision of Entrepreneurial Activity Safety), and Advertising and PR.

At the Finance and Banking Department one can get professions dealing with Banking and Finance (Banking, State Finance, State Financial Recourses Management, Insurance Management, Financial Intermediation and Psychology).

The Commodity Science and Trade Entrepreneurship Department trains specialists for home and international trade. The specializations the department provides are: Commodity Science and Trade Entrepreneurship, Trade System Management and Merchandizing, Commodity Science and Foreign Trade Organization, Commodity Science and Commercial Logistics), Commodity Science and Examination in Customs Affairs, Examination of Goods and Services.

The students of the Restaurant, Hotel and Tourist Business Department obtain specializations in the sphere of Organization Management (Management in Tourist Industry, Management in Hotel and Restaurant Business, Exhibition Activity and Advertising), Food Technology, Restaurant Business and Service. All the University graduators are in great demand in the modern job market.
