Narrator: And the shepherds came, and they found Mary, and Joseph, and the Baby Jesus, wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger, just as the angel had told them.
Mary (singing a lullaby): Sleep, my baby, sleep in peace… 1
Shepherds: We’ve wanted to bring a gift for the baby. But we’re only poor simple shepherds, we have no gold or silver. And we’ve brought the only thing we have: a newborn lamb.
Shepherd boy (to Mary): What’s His name?
Mary: His name is Jesus!
Shepherd boy: His name is Jesus, Mary said.
But who is he, yes, who is he?
Joseph: He’s our Saviour. He’s been sent
To bring Salvation for you and me.
Shepherd boy: His name is Jesus, the Son of God,
But where’s a place for Him to live?
Joseph: The finest home for our Lord
Is in the hearts of those who believe.
Narrator: And the shepherds knelt down beside the manger to worshiped Jesus, born then into the earth as a tiny baby, yet was the son of God.
CAROL: SILENT NIGHT
SCENE VII
The Three Wise Men Visit Jesus
Narrator: Far away in the land of Persia lived three Wise Men. They spent a lot of time studying the stars in the night-time sky. They believed that by reading the stars they could learn about things happening on the earth. One night they noticed a new star, a bright beautiful star, that suddenly appeared in the East.
1st Wise Man: The appearance of this star means that a very great King has been born! We must go to worship Him and take Him gifts.
2nd Wise Man: But we don’t know where He is!
3rd Wise Man: The new star will show us the way.
Narrator: That same night The Wise Men set off through the desert. The star moved across the sky guiding them towards the West. At last they reached the little town of Bethlehem where the star was shining over the stable.
2nd Wise Man: This can’t be the place! We have come to worship a King. Surely a King would be born in a Palace, not in an old stable!
1st Wise Man: This must be the right spot. The books did say that this would be a very different King.
3rd Wise Man: Let us go in and see.
Narrator: And so the three Wise Men entered the stable. They placed their precious gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh beside the manger where the Baby Jesus lay. And then they knelt down to worship Him.

SCENE VIII
Everybody worships Baby Jesus
Shepherds, Wise Men, Mary, Joseph: We have come to the Child,
Who has the glory of God in His heart,
A wonderful Child from on high,
A Child with God’s love in His heart.
A wonderful, wonderful, wonderful Child!
Narrator: On this the most magical night the angels gathered overhead and the air was filled with the sound of their joyful singing. Down below in the tiny stable stood Joseph, kind and thoughtful, with Mary, the most blessed of women. The birds and animals, the poor shepherds and the rich Wise Men of the East had gathered together to worship a small innocent baby and to give thanks to God. That’s the story of the very first Christmas, when God sent us Jesus, His Son.
