Competition Dress

15.1. IDU dress regulations for all age groups are described in the Appendix 2.

15.2. It is not allowed to change a dress during one round except when the dress is damaged and can not be used any longer. For the age group Juveniles it is not allowed to change a dress during the whole competition.

15.3. It is allowed to place advertising of sponsors on competition dress; the total area of advertising on a competition dress shall be less than 40 cm² for one sponsor.

15.4. It is allowed to place advertising of sponsors on couple’s number on conditions that the total size of this advertising is less 20% of the number area.

Notice: The Chairman of expert commission is empowered to suspend a couple from participation in competitions if the couple’s dress does not comply with the demands.

Appendix 2: IDU Dress Regulations

Age groups: Juveniles (11 or younger)

Male. Classic Ballroom and Latin American dances

Mandatory requirement:

Black trousers, foot strap is allowed. A black belt (metal buckle is optional).

A plain white long sleeved (not a tail) shirt, cotton or polycotton preferred, has to be tucked in.

A black tie (Classic Ballroom) or a bow tie (Latin American). A metal tiepin is allowed.

Black leather or suede shoes on low heels with a maximum height of 2,5 cm. Black socks.

A short hairstyle. Long hair has to be worn in a ponytail.

Not allowed:

Materials with light effects and texture patterns.

Open collar, stand-up collar and rolled up sleeves.

Dress decorations.

Jewelry decorations and bijouterie.

FEMale. Classic Ballroom and Latin American dances

One of mandatory options for choice:

A black skirt with a white blouse and panties.

A black skirt with a white long sleeved leotard (body).

A black skirt with a white short sleeved T-shirt and panties.

A simple one color dress and panties.

A long sleeved leotard and a skirt.

Shoes on block heel only with a maximum height of 3,5 cm.

White or one color short socks or skin color tights.

Style of a skirt or lower part of a dress: a simple or pleated skirt with 2 or 3 half circles. One not pleated underskirt is allowed. Length must not be more than 10 cm above the knee and not below the knee.

It is allowed:

Combination of several materials and textures of the same color. Any color of dress parts except skin color.

Decoration with overlays and laces without light effects.

Not allowed:

Materials with light effects, metallized materials, transparent and flesh color materials.

Decorations with sequins, stones, beads, bugles, feathers and ostrich boa, marabou fuzz and feathers of other exotic birds, furs of animals as boa and other articles, similar decorations.

Any properties.

Any jewelry decorations and bijouterie.

Artificial eyelashes, artificial nails, color nail varnish and color hair spray, artificial tan.

Any conventionalized or adult hairstyles, chignons.

Shoes on high heels.

Mesh tights.
