  1. The competitions are held on the rules of organizer – IDU national member. These rules shall be stated in the application-provisions of the competitions.
  2. Applications for conducting National Open Tournament of IDU member shall be submitted to the IDU SBD Commission and shall be considered not later than three month before the date of corresponding competitions.
  3. The National Open Tournament of IDU member shall be open competitions for all dancing couples (a male dancer and a female dancer) from different countries of the World regardless of their membership of any organizations.

 

7.4. Classification Tournaments

  1. International Classification Tournaments are held for dancers of the same class in accordance with specified demands on dance figures and dance program.
  2. International Classification Tournaments shall be held as a part of IDU International Open Competitions (p.7.2.) and National Open competitions of IDU members (p.7.3).
  3. IDU International Classification Tournaments are held on the following classes, figures and programs of dances:

Class “D”

Figures - “ASSOCIATE”

Dance program:

Classical Ballroom dances – Waltz, Tango, Slow Foxtrot, Quickstep;

Latin American dances – Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Jive.

 

Class “C”

Figures - “ASSOCIATE”, “MEMBER”

Dance program:

Classical Ballroom dances – all dances

Latin American dances – all dances

 

Class “B”

Figures - “ASSOCIATE”, “MEMBER”, “FELLOW”

Dance program:

Classical Ballroom dances – all dances

Latin American dances – all dances

 

Class “A”

Figures – Free style

Dance program:

Classical Ballroom dances – all dances

Latin American dances – all dances

 

  1. National Open Classification Tournaments of IDU members can be held in accordance with the corresponding national rules in which case a special report shall be sent in advance to the IDU SBD Commission.
  2. The couple’s class shall be determined by the highest class of one of the partners.

 

7.5. The constituents order in the names of IDU Tournaments

  1. The placing of constituents in the names of IDU Tournaments shall be in the following order: year, organization name (IDU), status (including age group and dance program), division. For example:

IDU World Junior Latin Championship,

IDU European Youth Classic Ballroom Championship,

IDU World Cup. Open East European division.

  1. This order in the names of IDU events shall be followed in all printing and advertising materials (posters, advertising modules in Internet, information booklets, inscriptions on start numbers of competitors etc).

 


Rule 8

 

Age groups

 

8.1. The basic age groups for IDU title competitions

a) Juniors – reach 12th and 15th birthday till the date of competition

b) Youth-1 – reach 16th and 18th birthday till the date of competition

c) Youth-2 – reach 19th and 20th birthday till the date of competition

d) Adults – reach 21st birthday or more till the date of competition

e) Seniors – reach 35th birthday or more till the date of competition

 

8.2. The additional age groups for IDU International Open Competitions, para.7.2.

a) Juveniles – reach 11th birthday or less till the date of competition

b) Juveniles-1 – reach 9th birthday or less till the date of competition

c) Juveniles-2 – reach 10th and 11th birthday till the date of competition

d) Juniors-1 – reach 12th and 13th birthday till the date of competition

e) Juniors-2 – reach 14th and 15th birthday till the date of competition

f) Grand Seniors – reach 45th birthday or more till the date of competition

 

8.3. The age group of the couple is determined by the older in the couple, in the age groups Seniors – by the younger in the couple.

8.4. Dancing couples are allowed to compete in the following age groups:

Juveniles-1 – in the age group Juveniles-2

Juniors-1 – in the age group Juniors-2

Juniors-2 – in the age group Youth-1

Youth-1 – in the age group Youth-2 and Adults

Youth-2 – in the age group Adults

Grand Seniors – in the age group Seniors
