THE ARTICLE

АРТИКЛЬ

Артикли в английском языке – это слова, которые употребляются только с именами существительными или со словами, перешедшими в разряд существительных – т.е. субстантивированными частями речи.

 

Артикли передают значение определенности или неопределенности имени существительного. Выбор артикля перед существительным зависит от:

1) значения самого сущ. (абстрактное или конкретное, имя собственное или нет и т. д.); 2) исчисляемости или неисчисляемости сущ.;

В зависимости от этого существует 3 основных случая употребления артиклей в английском языке:
