You should read Bhagavad-gita As It Is carefully verse to verse and word to word, and you will be benefited

So what is the nature of God, what is our position, what is our relationship with God, what is our duty, and what is the goal of life, these things are very thoroughly discussed in Bhagavad-gita. So if we understand Bhagavad-gita very nicely, then we understand the whole science of God. Hare Krsna. (break)...that Krsna comes, descends personally, to settle up the contention whether God is person or imperson. So even the Krsna's presence cannot convince these Mayavadis, poor fund of knowledge, that Krsna, the Supreme Lord is person.

Everyone has to make his own routine work, and for chanting and reading and Bhagavad-gita he requires, say, two to three hours. So we have got twenty-four hours at our disposal. In everything, Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavata, just stick to these two books very nicely. Svanusthitasya dharmasya, samsiddhir hari-tosanam. It is a great science and very intricate also. But one has to learn also very diligently. Krsna consciousness is not for the fools. It is not for the fools. Highly intelligent class of man, he can understand the philosophical aspect of Krsna consciousness. But the thing is so attractive that even a child, even a fool is attracted. Yes. That is the beauty. Although it is very difficult to understand this philosophy, Caitanya Mahaprabhu has introduced the system that anyone can take it.

So the Krishna Consciousness movement is training people how to be absorbed in the thought of Krishna, 24 hours. Take for example, the Bhagavad-gita: the instruction of Krishna in the Bhagavad-gita are just suitable for a perfect human civilization.

But if sometimes, by chance, you do not get any time for reading Bhagavad-gita, that does not harm very much because you are already engaged in Bhagavad-gita. Any duty here in New Vrindaban... Just like Krsna was inducing Arjuna to fight. That fighting was also within the program of this devotional service. Similarly, anything working within this New Vrindaban, that is also counted reading Bhagavad-gita. So in some day if you don't find, read Bhagavad-gita, but that chanting must be finished. That is very essential.

But still, as it is suggested in the Bhagavad-gita: yad yad acarati sresthah. Yad yad acarati sresthas tat tad eva itarah janah. If the so-called leaders, they become Krsna conscious, they understand the philosophy, then others will follow. As, at the present moment, because the leaders are foolish, blind, they have no spiritual knowledge, all the population of the world becomes godless. Therefore our appeal is to the leading personalities to understand this Krsna consciousness movement. Try to understand its philosophy, apply in life, and try to distribute this knowledge. Automatically others will accept. Sa yat pramanam kurute lokas tad anuvartate. If Krsna consciousness movement is accepted by the leading personalities... Why they shall not accept unless they are ignorant and less intelligent? Everything is there. The Bhagavad-gita is left for this purpose. It was instructed not to Arjuna, but to the whole world, in the midst of Battlefield of Kuruksetra. So the whole world is a battlefield now. They should learn the teachings of Bhagavad-gita and thus become happy within this world.

Our goal is Krishna, and we are preaching the gospel of Krishna, Bhagavad-gita as it is. In the Bhagavad-gita the point is stressed to concentrate on Krishna only, and the highest perfection of yoga process is to realize Krishna both externally and internally. We are teaching to vibrate the transcendental chanting of "Krishna" because in that way, by hearing the sound vibration of Krishna, we can see everything as diverse extension of Krishna's external energy. And because we think of Krishna always in all our activities, therefore, internally we are 24 hours in meditation with Krishna.

Reading Bhagavad-gita is also taking lesson from the teacher. Teacher--Krsna is personally the teacher, and you read Bhagavad-gita means you take lessons from teacher, the supreme teacher.

Difficulty is not there, but we have to understand from teacher. Just like the many subject of knowledge we do not understand in the beginning, but by hearing from the teacher, gradually we understand. So that teacher must be perfect, in full knowledge, and then we can understand from him. So we accept Krsna. Because He is God, He is perfect. So we receive knowledge from Him, and that is Bhagavad-gita. So knowledge from Krsna or His pure servant, both of them are equal. They can give us that knowledge.

All questions are answered in the Bhagavad-gita. You read Bhagavad-gita thoroughly, and you will get all answer, all problems solved. Unfortunately, the so-called politicians and scholars, they misinterpret Bhagavad-gita and ruin their career and misguide others. That is going on. All rascals are doing that. "This word means this," as if Krsna left this word to be explained by a rascal. This is going on. He does not think of his position, that at any moment he will be kicked out of this platform of so-called leadership, so-called educated teacher, and he is commenting on the words of Krsna. This is going on. He does not understand his position, that "What I am?"
