Mid-adulthood is the seventh stage of Erikson’s theory. This stage involves the conflict Generativity vs. stagnation. Generativity means to have been successful in raising their life and their own children. Success means the person would be very beneficial to others in this world, thus having a feeling of positive accomplishment in life. Failure leads to basically having a sense of failure in life by not being needed by anybody else for most of the person’s life.

Maturity (502)

Maturity is the final stage of Erikson’s theory. This stage involves the conflict Ego integrity vs. despair. Ego Integrity is fulfillment in the persons life under all the benefits he passed on in this world. The person feels success in himself and passes wisdom to his family from his youth experiences. Failure means that the person has despair looking back on his life and only causing trouble in this world, not benefiting it, unable to share wisdom statements to his family because it will only surprise them.

Successful emotions or feelings (503)

Erikson’s and Maslow’s theory of successes are all true, but in different ways. Success can be achieved in multiple ways. The most effective emotion to success is self-esteem, but there are emotions that are also helpful. A sense of positivity and happiness can lead to getting self-esteem.

What others may think of you (504)

Another person relative to the person you are is in your peer group. A peer group is a group of people similar to your age, such as school classmates of the same stage of Erikson’s theory. Peer groups accept you as you. Cults however do accept you, but because they admire your specific personality and/or sel-image. Cults are not peer groups. Gangs are negative peer groups that tend to disobey laws under the control of them. A gang is not one person, but it’s multiple people that always accept new members, or even force new members in the gang. In other words, different groups see different sides of you, your positive or your negative or your normal.

Peer pressure (505)

Peer pressure means making a person do something against his will that other groups think is cool, such as a dare. The advice here is not to succumb to peer pressure. If your self-esteem is high, then you will most likely think before succumbing. It impacts you, so you need to decide whether the impact is right or wrong or beneficial or not to your life. If you think it’s not, the group may laugh at the person. The person has to stand up and just walk away no matter what they do to him. This is the perfect test for a person’s refusal skills.

Chapter 24: How you becomes you

The theory of reproduction (506)

You are you generally because of God and his creation of the first man on standing, Adam. Adam then got committed to another female person, Eve. They have children, then there children had children, and so on with the multiplication. Now the world has trillions of people and animals and living things in it. The key word for multiplication of living things is reproduction. All living things reproduce because they have DNA. DNA is the genetic information most living things have stored in their cells’ nuclei. That DNA has to multiply in order to create a new living organism. All cells have one pair of DNA, but can multiply the DNA in many different processes.

Parental Heredity (507)

You are you because of your biological parents. A parent is either a mom or dad. A mom is female, and the dad is male. The opposite genders play a role in having their child’s somewhat identical inheritance to each of his parents. Inheritance means the child shares some traits the mother are father has, such as hair color, eye color, skin color, race, and even linguistics. This happens to every child living here because their parents DNA got transferred from one end to the other, having 2 pairs of DNA make a new genetically different particle. DNA has all of the persons genetic information, that is why everybody living is physically different, every by a little speck of hair or coloration.

How parents first meet (508)

Parents meet by dating each other, having been successful in social health in the young adulthood stage of Erikson’s theory. Most likely every person has multiple relationships through life. Usually their final life long relationship is the one when the male and female really do love each other. Once their love has been committed over the course of 1-4 years of dating, they probably decided to get married traditionally or to elope. Marriage is a long term commitment, and success in it leads to having children. Marriage is good when a couple plan to have children because both of them understand each other, which can lead to successfully raising a child.

Chromosomes information genes(509)

DNA has chromosomes which are the basic genetic information for a person. The genes in the chromosomes are either dominant or recessive. Genes are mostly dominant because dominant means most common traits people have worldwide. A recessive gene is either completely recessive, or a mix of dominancy and recessive genes. A dominant male person would have brown eyes and black hair with white skin. A recessive make person would have blue or green eyes with blonde hair and white skin. If a couple were to get married and have a child if the wife’s eyes were blue with blonde hair, and the husbands eyes were brown with black hair, there is low chance the baby will carry the wife’s hair and eye color, but a high chance he will carry the husbands hair and eye color because his gene dominates her gene, being more common in the generation. Each set of DNA has 46 chromosomes, meaning there are 46 inherited traits a person has. The chromosomes are known as XX for a female, and XY for a male.

Male genetics (510)

A male has XY chromosomes in his DNA, meaning he has the human body applied to male genetic organs. The genetic area of any person is around their waste. The general male organ that is responsible for having a baby in the male’s perspective is the penis. The penis is connected to another genetic male organ called the testicles, or testes. That is known as the sperm factory. Sperm are very tiny cells that contain the copies males or females genetic information as well as the father’s inheritance (either XX or XY chromosomes). There are 2 testes in all males that both produce sperm. Some non-reproductive capabilities a male has are steroids that help them build muscle. That’s why it is easier to build muscle in a man’s body than in a woman’s body.

Female Genetics (511)

A female has XX chromosomes in her DNA, meaning she has the human body applied to female genetic organs. The woman’s genetic organs are around her waist and breasts. A woman has a vagina that is connected with 2 fallopian tubes. The intersection of the fallopian tubes makes an ovum from the woman’s ovaries. That’s a little egg that flows in either the left or right fallopian tube. The egg has a possibility to be seized by a sperm cell from a male.

Puberty (512)

Before a baby can be made, the male and female cannot reproduce because they need to pass the sub-stage of adolescence called puberty. Puberty is the process was a person’s genitals begin to take action and hormones. In a male, the penis enlarges and becomes erect when he sees something “sexy” to his liking of women. Having the penis erect means sperm is underway to produce in the testes. In a female, she begins to make ova once every 29 days. When the ova is releases without being seized by sperm, it leaks out of her vagina with some blood in going to the bathroom. That is called menstruation, or otherwise known as the period. That is an indication that the girl has reached puberty. Also, when a women or girl thinks a man is “sexy”, they become attracted and their vagina’s become moist. This stage usually begins at the age of 12 on average in life.

Foreplay (513)

Once puberty is complete, boys are on to girls, and girls are on the boys. Foreplay is a process before a couple has sex when they warm up their genetic organs. This process is sometimes ignored, but it is optional, not so important. This is why people don’t have sex on the first date.

The process of sex (514)

When the couple decides to do so, they have unprotected sex. Unprotected sex is when there is a high possibility of getting the female pregnant. This is called sexual intercourse, the process where a man’s penis enters the woman’s vagina to get sperm into her vagina and fallopian tubes, locating an ovum. Once a single sperm enters an egg, all the other sperm die off and the sperm enters inside the egg, seizing it. That egg does not get released, so the woman’s menstruation periods are over once after intercourse. The period when the sperm seizes the woman’s genitals, that is the exciting period of sex called an orgasm.

Sex addicts/rapists (515)

Some mentally unhealthy people get drunk have sex several times without actually knowing. Unwanted sex by a partner is called rape, and the rapist can be prosecuted and charged as a felony. Sex shouldn’t be unwanted because both partners need to agree on it. If the partners like having sex if they agree on it, they can have sex as much as they wish. All pretty girls out there should watch out for any suspicious guys and hoboes because they could be rapists or molesters because they are drunk with nothing else to do but harass girls. This is very dangerous being outside at night, alone, idling on the streets.

Protected sex (516)

Say a couple already have enough kids being raised but still want to have sex. Or if a young couple wants to have sex without getting pregnant, it is possibly. Condoms are the effective method of safe sex. These little plastic latex baggies get put on a penis and vagina of a couple and they can experience sex with an 85% chance of not getting the girl pregnant. The only way that’s 100% effective for getting a girl pregnant is abstinence, meaning not having anal sex.

Masturbation (517)

Boys and girls get sexually excited when they think something or someone is sexy. When they are in private areas, they tend to masturbate. That means they touch their genitals until the excitement is over. A couple can do this to themselves to make the flow of sex easy in the process of foreplay. This is normal, now diseases can be passed on with this action.

Pregnancy tests (518)

A pregnancy test is a test the woman takes after had sex with a man to see if she is pregnant or not. If she is, that means her period did not happen, and she is expecting a baby in 9 months from that point. If she is, she goes to a doctor to have her x-rayed.

Gender identification time (519)

It is the father’s sperm that decides what gender the baby will be. The sperm cell that seized the egg is either XX or XY. Say the doctor tells them they are expecting a girl, then the father had an XX sperm cell seize the mother’s egg. Gender identification time for a child is determined during the 5th month of pregnancy. As a baby develops in the mother’s stomach, the brain and skull develop first, followed by the heart and body, then genetic organs and legs and feet.

Challenge of Birth (520)

Birth is the moment the parents have been waiting for all their life. Of course, the mother must go through so much pain during labor to give birth, but it all pays off once the parents hold a little miracle in their hands. They express their emotions with tears of joy bringing a human to life as God gave them a living person to challenge to take care of. Most parent’s accept that challenge, but unfortunately, some do not because they are uneducated in terms of responsibility and parenting. They then give the child up for adoption. Parent’s may even accept more than one child to parent.

Types of multiple babies (521)

In rare occasions, a father’s sperm can carry 2, 3, or even 4 or 5 sets of the same chromosome identities, either exactly the same, or somewhat the same. This is when fraternal and identical twins. Identical twins have the nearly exact same DNA. Fraternal twins are like brothers that have been given birth within 10 minutes, without the exact same DNA. Twins have to be the same gender. Identical triplets and quadruplets are even rarer and rarer as the number increases. This is not a birth defect or anything; it is normal, but rare.

This is it (522)

To sum up everything here, the statement below gives the author’s definition of life and living it:

The proper definition of life in my own words is a challenge our creator, God, gives us to enjoy and experiment with the world He made until He decides we had had enough time to enjoy and experiment with His creation, otherwise known as death to heaven with the angels if God believes we did follow the rules of living, or losing the eternal life if we caused trouble and took much advantage of living on this world.
