Hindi and English are two national languages used for central administrative purposes in India. There are also 22 regional languages for official purposes, but Hindi is the main link language as it is known and understood in the north of India and in all urban centres of the country.

Historically English has spread in all the territory of this country and has become a powerful linguistic tool for administrative purposes. English has helped to unite people and serves as the language of wider communication, including a large variety of different people covering a vast area.

English is the first language for many well-educated Indians. It is also the second language for many who speak more than one language in India. It is also the linguistic bridge between other countries and India.

DOG LOST
A dog was lost in the Central City Park on Saturday, the 15th May. It is a small, wiry, very active and fearless white terrier. The dog had a dog tag with the name and a phone number.

III. Speaking
School is the centre of learning and temple of knowledge, which the child attends to reveal the various mysteries and puzzles of existence. It helps in his development and makes him a completely independent identity. Thus, school is the most crucial place for a child to be. This importance has triggered many issues that are significant in making the schools a better place for students. The provision of dress code in school has emerged to be one such heated topic. There are a lot of pros and cons of wearing school uniforms.

One of the advantages is that students who wear uniforms take school environment more seriously and concentrate more on their studies rather than on deciding their wardrobe. Besides, fixed dress code helps reduce social conflict and violence in the schools. One of the most profound benefits of having schools uniforms is that they relieve the parents from the burden of buying fashionable and expensive clothes for their kids every now and then.

The main disadvantage of school uniform is that it surely curbs the self expression of a child. Sociologists believe that it may lead to inappropriate ways of expression by children, such as improper use of make up and jewellery. Another reason argued against school uniforms is that they deprive the children of their individuality. The stress on a uniform dress code in school opposes the spirit of unity in diversity and its celebration. It is even claimed to restrict socialization, a vital aspect of human nature. Another ill effect of school uniform is that wearing it is not so comfortable as wearing different type of clothing, as per individual choice.
