Dear leaders of choral collectives!

The First Open Festival-Contest of Spiritual Music “Petrovskiye Dni” will be conducted in St. Petersburg on July 9-12 with the Blessing of Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga Varsonofy.

The Festival-Contest was initiated with the purpose to support amateur choral collectives and to attract attention to Spiritual music. You will have an opportunity to perform in concerts in central cathedrals of St. Petersburg, such as Kazan Cathedral, Fedorov’s Icon Theotokos Cathedral and many others. You could also present your program in the Spiritual music contest in the State Academic Capella. Besides presenting your mastery for the Jury’s consideration, you will get an opportunity to socialize with distinguished musicians, who dedicated their professional careers to the art of choral singing. We also invite all participants of the Festival-Contest to attend festal liturgy at St. Peter and St. Paul Cathedral in St. Peter and St. Paul Fortress on July 12, 2015 under the guidance of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. The participants could also take part in the Festal All-Night Vigil on July 11 in various cathedrals in St. Petersburg. The organizers of the Festival-Contest are preparing memorial prizes and gifts for participants as a gratitude for your remarkable contribution to the art of choral singing.

8-00 – 12-00 Meeting participants at railroad/bus stations or airports in St. Petersburg.

City survey bus tour.

Hotel check-in.

14-00 Registration starts in the Organizing Committee at the address: 35 Nevsky prospect, St. Petersburg, Bol’shoi Gostinnyi Dvor, Sadovaya Liniya, 2-nd floor, theatrical-exhibition complex «GostinkaART».

12-00 The official opening ceremony of The First Open Festival-Contest of Sacred Music for Amateur and Church Choirs «PETROVSKIYE DNI» at State Academic Capella

12-30 The first session of the Contest.

14-00 The break (lunch for the Jury).

15-00 The second session of the Contest.

18-00 The election of laureates of the Contest by the Jury (coffee-break for the Jury).

July 11

12-00 Participants concerts at various venues in St. Petersburg.

The schedule will be announced after registration of participating choral collectives.

18-00 The choral collectives will join the Festal All-Night Vigil in various cathedrals and churches in St. Petersburg, participating in the Festival-Contest.

July 12

10-00 The choirs will participate in the Festal Liturgy at St. Peter and St. Paul Cathedral in St. Peter and St. Paul Fortress.

14-00 The official closing ceremony of the Festival-Contest at the square adjacent to Kazan Cathedral (Gala Concert, winners’ awarding, the united choir of the participating choirs sings “Petrovskii Cant”).
