GIVEN TO DOCTORS AT THE NATIONAL DIABETES SYMPOSIUM HELD IN MUMBAI
With about 70 million diabetic patients, India has emerged as the diabetes capital of the world and is projected to experience the greatest global increase in Diabetes incidence by 2025.Keeping in mind the Holistic Approach being advocated now by World authorities for Diabetes management a Scientific presentation and work shop on Management of Diabetes by Sahaja Yoga, was done in a two day National Symposium on Diabetes on 12 th Oct 2013 at MGMIHS,by the doctors of International Sahaja Yoga Research & Health Centre located at Navi Mumbai.
After the completion of the Medical Thesis for award of MD in Medicine six months back, on the Effects of Sahaja Yoga on Stress Reduction, two very new path breaking Researches, which are Master of Science Projects, conducted in association with Vashi Hospital on the beneficial effect of Sahaja Yoga in Diabetes,were presented in this Mega conference. Although by virtue of H. H Shri Matajis teachings,we all along knew that Sahaja yoga is beneficial for diabetes but this is the first time that we have been able to show conclusively by high Quality Medical Research that Sahaja Yoga is beneficial in Diabetes. On this occasion a Souvenir on Scientific Proceedings was released by The Vice Chancellor of the University in which a Medical article along with Shri Mataji’s Photo was published and given to all the attending delegates and also sent to all top Medical Institutions of the country. The article can be read as an attachment in this mail.
More than 700 doctors from all over the country attended the Conference. India’s top most Diabetologists including Dr V.Mohan from Chennai, Dr Sharad Pendsey from Nagpur, Dr A K Das from Pondicherry, Dr Banshi Saboo and Dr Mayur Patel from Ahemdabad and many others participated and gave their presentations.
Apart from this Internationally Acclaimed Diabetologists like Dr Paniker from Lilawati Hospital, Dr Chandalia from Jaslok Hospital, Dr Bhoraskar from Asian Heart hospital, Dr Navneet Kumar &Dr Alan Almeida Cardiologist &Nephrologist from Hinduja hospital and many more distinguished personalities in field of Medicine from the entire country were there,to give their talks & share their ideas as to how to prevent and treat diabetes in India.
The two day conference ended on a positive note with the recommendation from all the Leading Diabetologists of the country, that majority of Diabetes in India is due of poor Life Style of people and that all efforts towards attaining a Healthy Life Style should be undertaken. In this Direction Alternative Medicine Tools such as Yoga & Meditation should be adopted as adjuvant treatment strategy in management of Diabetes especially in a developing country like India. The Delegate Doctors were so impressed with the workshop that they requested the Vice Chancellor to consider opening a centre for Sahaja Yoga in MGM Hospital for the benefit of patients.
