Desde Gros puedes andar fácilmente hasta la escuela. Dirígete hacia la calle Duque de Mandas en el barrio de Egia (sentido opuesto al mar). Continua por Duque de Mandas hasta que llegues al parque de Cristina Enea. Sigue por la carretera que va a la derecha del parque (Camino de Mundaiz). Busca el callejón con el número 8. Al fondo verás un letrero que pone DABA DABA (bar de música en vivo) antes, a la izquierda está el portal para entrar a la escuela.
From Gros you can easily walk to the school. Walk towards the direction Duque de Mandas in the suburb of Eguia (AWAY from the beach). Follow Duque de Mandas until you reach Cristine Enea Park. Follow the road (Camino Mundaiz) to the RIGHT of the park and the school is located at number 8. There is a small driveway on the RIGHT with a sign saying DABA DABA (live music venue). We are just down the driveway and to the left.

Vas a vivir a 5 min andando de la playa de La Zurriola, en una zona llena tiendas de ropa, negocios, cafeterías y bares. El barrio de Gros tiene mucha personalidad propia, siendo el preferido de la gente joven y los surfistas. Separado por el río Urumea que atraviesa la ciudad, sólo tienes que cruzar el río para llegar a los barrios del Centro y Parte vieja.
You are a 5 min walk to La Zurriola Beach and close to a variety of shops and amenities. Gros is a pleasant urban area in San Sebastián with its own personality – there are lots of surfers and young people living there. It’s separated from El Centro by the river that runs through San Sebastian but is only a 5 min walk away. There are plenty of coffee shops, clothes boutiques and surf shops.

Eva es una mujer muy agradable y una madre moderna, que compagina su actividad profesional con su familia. Junto con su marido y sus hijos van a hacer que tu estancia en San Sebastian sea inolvidable. Su piso está amueblado en un estilo informal y muy funcional, con un toque de color. La habitación de invitados tiene un baño sólo para el / los estudiantes que se alojan en su casa. Eva habla inglés. Ella y su marido Roberto se animaron a alojar estudiantes porque piensan que es una oportunidad única para que sus hijos conozcan otras culturas y se acostumbren a convivir con estilos diferentes de personas sin salir de casa. Son una familia realmente acogedora y están deseando ser tus anfitriones.

Tener una convivencia agradable y cómoda requiere de la implicación de ambas partes: familia y estudiante. Es importante que recuerdes que al elegir esta opción, estás aceptando adaptarte al estilo de vida de la familia y respetar sus normas sociales.
If you want to be accepted as another member of the family, you will need to adapt to their way of life and respect their social norms. This will make both you and the family feel more comfortable.
A continuación detallamos una lista de los servicios mínimos dispuestos por todas las familias que participan en nuestro programa. Muchas de ellas ofrecerán más que esto. Confiamos en el respeto de los alumnos para que no se abuse de su hospitalidad ni se exijan servicios que no corresponden a las familias.
INCLUYE:
ü Habitación individual o doble (sólo para estudiantes acompañados).
ü Desayuno español (café/ té, pan/tostadas o cereales); desayuno español y cena (dos platos y postre) o desayuno español, comida / paquete de picnic y cena.
ü Lavado de ropa una vez por semana (conviene preguntar a la familia qué día se hace la colada). Si fueran necesarios más lavados, te aconsejamos ir a una lavandería.
ü Cambio de sábanas y toallas una vez por semana. El estudiante debe traer su propia toalla de playa.
ü Una ducha diaria. Nunca después de las 21:00 horas.
ü Una limpieza semanal de la habitación.
ü Llaves de la casa.
NO INCLUYE:
ü El uso del teléfono. La familia te permitirá usarlo si hay una emergencia. Pero pídeles siempre permiso antes de utilizarlo.
ü No está permitido fumar en las habitaciones. Si eres fumador, por favor, habla con tu familia para que te indique donde puedes fumar. Puede ser necesario bajar a la calle si la familia no es fumadora y no dispone de un lugar adecuado para fumar.
ü La opción de familia no permite el uso de la cocina. Tampoco en el caso de media pensión ( Bed & Breakfast). Si deseas cocinar para ti, elige la opción “apartamento con españoles”
ü No se pueden traer visitas a casa o invitar a huéspedes a quedarse contigo en la habitación sin la autorización previa de la familia..
ü Internet/Uso del ordenador – casi todas las familias disponen de conexión WIFI y te permitirán usarlo. Por favor, no abuses descargando archivos pesados como películas, música, etc. Si la familia no tiene WIFI, pregúntales por el café internet más cercano o cuál es el punto de acceso a WIFI gratuito más cercano. La escuela dispone de WIFI y de ordenadores para los estudiantes desde las 8:30 hasta las 19 horas de lunes a jueves y hasta las 18 horas los viernes.
El encuentro con la familia: te ayudará preguntarles el primer día por sus costumbres
· ¿A qué hora puedes usar el baño para tu ducha por la mañana o por la tarde?
· ¿A qué hora es la cena? (lo más frecuente es entre las 20:30 y las 21:00 p.m.). Por favor, aprovecha para indicarles si hay algo que no puedes comer o que no te gusta.
· ¿A qué hora se sirve el desayuno? ¿Desayunará la familia contigo? Algunas familias necesitan salir pronto por la mañana para trabajar y te dejarán lo necesario preparado en la mesa.
· ¿Qué día les tienes que dar la ropa sucia para lavar? ¿Debes ponerla en algún lugar especial?
· ¿A qué hora se acuesta n y se levantan?- Procura no hacer ruido ni antes ni después de esas horas.
Si no vas a cenar en casa es importante que les avises lo antes posible para que ellos puedan organizarse. La cena y la velada son los momentos del día en los que la familia estará totalmente disponible para ti. Renunciar a la cena, supone renunciar a una gran parte de tus oportunidades para practicar español y conocer mejor a tu familia.
Below is a list of the minimum amenities that are included in the host family accommodation. Most of the time the host families will offer more than what is listed below, but please do not abuse this or take it for granted.
IT INCLUDES:
ü Single room (or double) as requested.
ü Breakfast; breakfast and dinner; or breakfast, lunch and dinner as requested.
ü Laundry once a week (check which day is best for the host family). If you need to do laundry more often please ask your host family for the nearest Laundromat.
ü Change of sheets and towels once a week. Please remember to bring your own beach towel
ü One bath or a shower per day.
ü Keys to the house.
IT DOES NOT INCLUDE:
ü Telephone use – in case you need it for an emergency, you will have to ask for the family’s permission.
ü You cannot smoke in your bedroom. If you are a smoker, please speak to the family.
ü You cannot use the kitchen without the family’s permission. Please note that the host family option does not include kitchen access.
ü You cannot bring friends or guests back to the house without the family’s PRIOR consent.
ü Internet/Computer use – most of the host families have WiFi and you are able to access it with their permission. Please be careful not to abuse this by downloading large files such as movies, music etc. If your family does not have WiFi ask them for the nearest Internet café or bar with WiFi or other internet access point. The school has free WiFi and computers with internet access open from 08:30 to 19:00 every day.
Meeting the host family.
Ask them the first day about the habits of their house.
· At what time dinner will be served (it is usually at around 9:00 p.m.). Let them know if there is something you do not like or if there is something you cannot eat.
· At what time can you use the bathroom to shower in the morning or at night.
· At what time can you have breakfast? Will they be there to have it with you? (many host families need to leave early in the morning for work and might leave it prepared for you).
· Which day they will need you to give them the clothes for the laundry.
· What time do they get up/ go to bed.
Please let them know if you will not be eating dinner or if you will not stay the night there to avoid them worrying about you. This should be done with as much advanced notice as possible.
