Варианты перевода герундия. 1. им. сущ. I go info swimming.- Я занимаюсь плаванием. 2. инфинитивом. She enjoyed sitting in the sun.- Ей доставляло удовольствие сидеть на солнце. 3. придаточным предложением. – Excuse my interrupting you.- Простите, что я вас перебиваю. 4. деепричастием. He went away without leaving his address.- Он уехал, не оставив своего адреса.

Indefinite gerund

Действие, обозначаемое этим герундием, либо одновременно действию основного глагола, или оно следует за ним.

She was busy doing her exercises.

Do you think that this question is worth discussing.

I like being invited to their parties.

Perfect gerund

Действие, обозначаемое этим герундием, предшествует действию, выраженным основным глаголом (или описываемой ситуации)

I’m sure of having read it once.

I don’t remember having seen him before.

I remember having been shown this letter.

3. Hо! В некоторых ситуациях предшествование может быть выражено и { Indefinite Gerund Active}

a) после глаголов to remember, to thank, to excuse, to forget

I can still remember running down round the house, when I was little. - Я все еще помню, как бегала вокруг дома, когда была маленькая.

b) после предлогов after, on, before, without, since. - After leaving (=after having left) her umbrella in the hall, she entered the room.Оставив зонтик в прихожей, она вошла в комнату.
