13 – Rules for International Students
    1. International students must always maintain valid passport and immigration status. 2. International students must contact the Designated School Official before leaving the United States of America. If a student travels outside the U.S.A., and needs to return, he or she must have their I-20 signed on page 3 by the DSO before leaving. 3. International students must attend SOLEX College full time; students will lose F-1 status if attendance is less than 70%. 4. International students must register at the school, or commence participation in his or her program, within 30 days of the institution’s registration deadline. Failure to do so will result in student status termination without notification. 5. Students must attend SOLEX College for one, full academic year (9 months) prior to taking a vacation. 6. Students must maintain a valid I-20; per line #5 on the I-20. If an extension is needed, students must provide SOLEX College with updated financial documents. Do not wait until the last day on the I-20. Government regulations only allow I-20 extensions before the expiration date. Failure to get an extension on the I-20 before it expires will result in termination of F-1 status. 7. It is very important to maintain student status. Any F-1 visa student, who is not attending classes for more than 180 days, but stays in the United States and later tries to re-enroll in classes at any school, will be deported by the USCIS and will be unable to re-enter the United States for three consecutive years. If an F-1 visa student is not attending school (and remains in the United States) for more than 1 year he or she is automatically subject to deportation by the USCIS and cannot re-enter the U.S. for a period of ten years. This law went into effect on 04/01/1997. 8. International students are not allowed to work “off-campus” unless they have permission from the DSO and US CIS. 9. Students can only work “on-campus” part-time (this only applies to Foreign Students with F-1 status). 10. International students should file their own income tax forms. 11. No financial aid is available to international students. 12. International students MUST notify SOLEX College and the USCIS of any changes in their address and phone numbers no later than 10 days from time of change. 13. Any disruptive behavior towards SOLEX College personnel will be considered sufficient reason for immediate dismissal from the school, with consequential immigration status termination. 14. SOLEX College increases its tuition periodically. Every student is obligated to start paying the new tuition amount immediately after the effective date of the increase. 15. Students with an outstanding financial balance of a completed term will NOT be allowed to take the next term until their monetary obligations to the school are satisfied. 16. STUDENTS are responsible for maintaining their own immigration status. SOLEX College is responsible for reporting immigration discrepancies to the Department of Homeland Security and SEVIS.

I, (Student’s Full Name)

have carefully read and understood all of the above, and hereby promise to abide by its content. I also received a copy of the completed and executed agreement.
