MY NATIVE TOWN

My native town.I live in the town of Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky, Kyiv Region. I was born here, and our family has been living in this place for over 60 years.

Pereyaslav is an ancient town; For centuries the town had been a very important centre. It was visited by many prominent historical figures and many important events took place here. It was the place where the famous Pereyaslavska Rada was summoned. It witnessed glorious battles and the rising of Ukrainian culture and art. Now it witnesses the national and cultural revival of the Ukrainian people. Our town is in itself a historical monument, and its old streets, churches will tell a great deal to an attentive person who is interested in the history of Ukraine. Its fame spreads beyond the borders of Ukraine. That's why Pereyaslav is so often visited by the citizens of Ukraine and by thousands of foreign tourists. It offers a wide choice of historical monuments, museums, old churches and other historical places.

Besides, the town is situated in a very picturesque place, has wonderful parks and gardens. Two historical rivers, often mentioned in historical chronicles, the Trubizh and the Alta, flow through it. I think my town is a nice place to live in. If you come to my town you'll find people here warm and friendly. Most people are hard-working and optimistic. The life in our town is quiet and peaceful. You are welcome to visit my native and beloved town, to see its historical treasures and to meet its kind-hearted people.
