Surface parameter

ADEM enables you to create construction entities with a surface bottom. This means that the bottom of the construction entity is not a plane but is defined by a 3D model.

If the pocket bottom is defined by a surface, select the Surface check box.

To create a blank:

1. Click the Pocket button on the ElementsCAM toolbar. A Pocket dialog box appears.

2. Select the Z of CE, Absolute option.

3. Enter value 20 into the Z max box.

4. Enter value -10 into the Z min box. Z max – max Z coordinate of the blank, Z min -min Z coordinate of the blank.

5. In the Clear Plane box select the Coordinate Z option and enter value 25 into the correspondent box.

6. Set the Surface option on. Press OK. A Contour 1/Esc prompt appears.

7. Point the blank contour.

8. Press middle mouse button or Esc. M. Surf prompt appears in the bottom of the window. Press middle mouse button or Esc.

9. Ch. Surf 1/Esc prompt appears in the bottom of the window. Press middle mouse button or Esc.

10. The entire 3D model is highlighted in green. The name of the construction entity appears in the command line: (MO:3 ***/Pocket).
