The external and USB set on your desk outside the PC while the other two types (to be) not visible since they're inside the PC. 7. The internal modem (to be) a card that is inserted inside the computer. 8. The built-in modem (to be) part of the motherboard and is thus built into the computer. As of 2001, built-in modems are primarily for laptops.
