I. Подставьте глагол “to be” или “to have” в нужной форме, переведите:

1 He … born in 1985. 2 We … students now. 3 He … a family. 4 Tomorrow we … at home. 5 I … fine. 6 They … at guest’s yesterday. 7 Your wife … a lot of relatives in Kiev. 8 Where … your books? - They... on the table. 9 They … a new flat next year. 10 My friends … in Moscow last summer. 11 Their family … a baby soon.

 

II. Поставьте к следующим предложениям общий, специальный, альтернативный, разделительный вопросы, образуйте отрицательную форму:

1 Your parents are already old. 2 She is married to Tom. 3 Kate was with her children at the museum last Sunday. 4 We will be ready in an hour. 5 They have two brothers. 6 My sister had a comfortable flat.

 

III. Выберите правильное притяжательное местоимение:

1 Is this (your/ yours) book? 2 It is (their / theirs) door, not (our / ours). 3 They are new pupils and I don’t know (theirs / their) names. 4 (My / mine) flat is bigger than (her / hers), but (her / hers) is nicer. 5 That is not (mine / my) book, (my / mine) is new. 6 Are these pencils (her / hers)? 7 Is this house (your / yours) or (their / theirs)?

 

IV. Замените выделенные слова личными местоимениями:

1 Peter helped the pupils to translate the text. 2 Mother asked Mary to wash the plates. 3 Myfriend writes a letter to his sister. 4 Jane took 3 books from the library. 5 His cousins live in Moscow. 6 Their parents will come tomorrow to my son.

 

V. Поставьте существительные во множественное число:

Student, factory, volcano, sheep, bush, play, tooth, swine, water, knife, love, church, gold, fire-company, fish, woman-conductor, showgirl, fireman, child, boy, lamp, computer.

 

VI. Поставьте подлежащее в предложениях во множественное число, произведите все необходимые замены:

1 This man is busy now. 2 The foot is large. 3 That baby is mine. 4 The boat was in the river. 5 A notebook is new.

 

VII. Составьте словосочетания с притяжательным падежом, переведите:

1 the boys / clothes; 2 the birthday / my daughter; 3 the book / the author; 4 the mistakes / the students; 5 the knob / the front door; 6 the children / the games; 7 the roof / the house; 8 the girls / the uniforms.

 

VIII. Переделайте предложения, используйте притяжательный падеж (’ s)

1 This umbrella belongs to James. 2 It is a school for girls. 3 Do you like the poetry of Eliot?

4 The gate of the factory was shut. 5 I lost the book of my mother. 6 This is a club for men. 7 Mrs. Kate is the secretary of our director. 8 He wrote about the life of doctors.

 

IX. Откройте скобки, употребите одно из времен Indefinite, переведите:

1 I (like) to play basketball when I (be) a boy.

2 Their family (come) to us tomorrow.

3 She often (wear) black dresses.

4 I (be) fond of fishing.

5 My cousin (have) lunch with me next Sunday.

6 Sam (bring) us this record 4 days ago.

7 Sometimes we (go) to the seaside.

X. Образуйте причастие I от следующих глаголов:

to meet, to find, to send, to copy, to sit, to close, to put, to try, to do, to lie

 

XI. Раскройте скобки, употребите одно из времен Continuous, переведите:

1 Listen attentively! Tom (to recite) a poem.

2 Be quiet! You (to quarrel) too loudly. Everybody (to look) at you.

3 Philip lost his camera when he (to walk) about the city.

4 At this time tomorrow she (to fly) to Kiev.

5 The grandfather (to work) in the garden when we arrived.

6 You (to make) such a terrible noise. What (to do) you?

7 Don’t ring her at 11, she (to have a bath).

 

XII. Поставьте предложения в отрицательную форму, задайте общий вопрос:

1 I read newspapers every morning. 2 My friend learns German. 3 I finished my work at 5 yesterday. 4 The lecture will be very interesting. 5 Joan is skating now. 6 Mother was cleaning my room when I came back.

 

XIII. Напишите предложение в прошедшем и будущем времени, добавив нужное по смыслу обстоятельство:

1 We meet at 8 every day. 2 I know the rules well. 3 Our students read a lot of French books. 4 She gives interesting lectures on History.

 

XIV. Задайте вопрос к подчеркнутому слову:

1 She speaks English very well. 2 I studied Lawat the Institute. 3 My sister came home late. 4 I will write Bob a letter. 5 Sam and Mary are shouting loudly in the garden. 6 Kate was sleeping when you rang her up.

 

XV. Образуйте степени сравнения:

Merry, hot, yellow, fat, clever, serious, expensive, low, lazy, blue, stupid, valuable, good, happy, necessary, active, cold, far, high.

 

XVI. Раскройте скобки, употребите одну из степеней сравнения, переведите:

1 He has got a (good) computer than I. 2 The blue whale is (big) animal in the world.

3 These jeans are (nice) than those. 4 This is (expensive) suit in the shop. 5 I have (little) free time than you. 6 Sue is (attractive) than Jane. 7 Winter is (cold) season of the year.
