2,5% of Asteros’s shares belong to IFS Russia & CIS. The remaining 97,5% are owned by Cyprus offshore, whose shareholders are Yuri Byakov (90%) – the founder of the company, and Asteros’s senior managers (the remaining less than 10%).[73]
Asteros, like the majority of Russian IT companies, is highly dependent on the government due to the active participation in state projects.
Internationalization
During the period 2006-2007 Asteros (BAC) entered the booming market of the neighboring countries. It opened the office in Astana, Kazakhstan, and acquired the stake in the leading Ukrainian system integrator Dialog-Kiev.
In 2006 Asteros Kazakhstan was opened. It provides a full range of services in the design, implementation and maintenance of IT and engineering systems for commercial and government organizations in Central Asia.[74]
The company Asteros Ukraine (until 2011 – Dialog-Kiev) has more than 20 years of experience in the market of Ukraine. It provides design and implementation of complex IT and telecommunications solutions for government agencies and leading commercial companies in Ukraine. In 2007, Asteros Ukraine was included in the business structure of Asteros. Today the company offers a full range of Asteros’s solutions in Eastern Europe.[75]
Asteros also opened its office in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.[76]

SAP CIS is the Russian subsidiary of the international company SAP AG. SAP operates in Russia for more than 20 years. In 1992, SAP opened an office in Moscow. Since then, SAP offices were opened in Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Almaty, Minsk and Kiev.
The main line of SAP solutions is present in Russia. In 2011 the Russian language became one of the major languages in the localization of SAP software products. According to IDC, SAP is the leader of the Russian market of business solutions with a share of 50.5%.[77]
The company's best-known software products are its enterprise resource planning application (SAP ERP), its enterprise data warehouse product – SAP Business Warehouse (SAP BW), SAP BusinessObjects software, and most recently, Sybase mobile products and in-memory computing appliance SAP HANA.
More than 1200 Russian customers use SAP solutions. In particular, 10 of the top 10 Russian companies in the ranking of the magazine "Expert" ("Expert-400", October 1, 2012) are SAP’s customers - Gazprom, Lukoil, Rosneft, Russian Railways, TNK-BP, Sberbank of Russia, Sistema JSFC, Surgutneftegaz, Transneft, IDGC Holding.
