Cool kids head to this two-storey market in their droves, drawn by both the cheap prices and the funky styles which have often been adapted from Korean or Japanese designs. It’s at the junction with Xueyuan Lu.
WUDAOKOU BEER GARDEN
When Beijing emerges from the deep freeze of its winter, so do its residents. Come summer in Wudaokou, the area just west of the subway stop turns into a hugely popular open-air beer garden. Locals and foreigners congregate at the tables, supping draft beers and snacking from the street food stands that surround them. The party starts early here, around 5pm, and continues late, and it gets louder and louder as those Y10 beers disappear down thirsty throats.
